Ok now yes these could be lanterns but what do any of you think?.
From the YT poster.

Saw this strange light. When i zoomed in, it was changing colour. Red, white, blue, yellow. If you can watch this frame by frame it will freek you out! What Is It?? Second night in a row, it has appeared!!

A former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator described unusual footage of a Bushey sighting as “very interesting”.

After viewing the video taken in Pasture Close, Bushey, on Wednesday, Mr Pope said he could not be sure what the object was, but that it probably had a logical explanation.

He said: “We are getting more and more sightings of UFOs. I think this is partly down to science fiction movies and people becoming more open to the possibility we are not alone.

“When I was running the government UFO project we got about two or three hundred sightings a year. Now people have more access to technology to record what they see, we are getting more and more good footage of UFOs.”

Mr Pope said the object in the video, taken by Jackie Noise, was probably a Chinese lantern but could not rule out the possibility of extra-terrestrial life visiting Earth.

“There is a lot of strange stuff being seen. Is there life out there? Definitely. Is there life visiting us? I'm not so sure. It is possible and throughout my career I have seen evidence, but no proof.”

Bushey could soon be the unlikely location of a government x-file as residents reported several UFO sightings in the past month.

Jackie Noise says she was “really freaked” when she and her husband spotted a UFO for the second night in a row floating above Pasture Close this week.

She filmed a still, bright, flashing light in the sky, at about 11.15pm on Wednesday, June 30, and says it was a “really strange” experience.

She said: “It was a ball of light travelling in a straight line. To the naked eye it appeared white, but when I zoomed in it was changing colours – red, white, blue, yellow.”

On Friday, June 11, two more sightings in Bushey were reported at www.uk-ufo.co.uk by an unnamed resident.

They said: “I could see three objects in a line formation. The upper one was shining with white light, the second and third objects were shining in red and were situated beneath the whitish one. For seven to ten minutes all the formation was stationary.

“Ten minutes before this sighting, my wife was observing a single, whitish, fast, dot-like object moving upwards. The movement was chaotic and without pattern.”

K3rm1t.....

G'day me ol' mate!

I don't think that's a chinese lantern.

It's hard to tell anything much at all pertaining to movement from that video.

If more details of movement, orientation, etc... can be obtained, "Heavens Above" can be used to check for stars, planets, satellites, etc...

The scintillation (i.e. the colour changing & twinkling) described probably means the witness filmed a star or planet.

I note Betelguese is noted for it's dramatic scintillation.

Kind regards

K3rm1t.....

As I think about it, I guess that's what I meant about Nick Pope.

He does get some things wrong & veers into "gullible" territory.

Based on the information to hand, this case appears to be an example of that. Pope simply didn't have enough info to state this was something extraordinary.

Kind regards
