OMGoodness! I checked in here a day or so ago and watched the video clips, these are REALLY much more violent and fast.

Thanks to everyone who is contributing here, this really is the best thread going.

Enterprise ROV now

The damaged fin keeps knocking the choke or kill line connection to the BOP.

They need to turn / twist that thing.

Bad.

Dammit, I could not get to the mouse quick enough to enlarge the camera, but I could have SWORN that the ROV which was just brought on-board, while the camera was still on, crewmen were wearing gas masks.

Edit to add, since I have been away from ATS for a while and most of you don't know me, I'm an old hippy and am not one to be dramatic or anything, lol.

I'm watching the Skandi Rov2 feed right now....what the heck happened to the BOP? It doesn't look like it's even there anymore. Why is the enitire unit moving around so much....it's the first time I have seen that type of noticeable movement.

I'm telling you guys, the top hat has been doing more damage to the well than it is doing good. I was watching last night and it kept digging a groove into one of the pipes. Not looking good, and today the movement is even more violent than I have seen as to date. Ugh, I'm beginning to side with the people saying we should nuke the whole mess

What the heck is going on? It looks like they're trying to hold the top down, and it's kicking all over the place!!

Hello there my hippie friend - what ROV did you think you saw someone with a respirator on. I can only get one feed right now - sure is rocking around down there.

I'd have to agree with the previous posters. This is the most amount of movement I've seen since I started watching the live feed last week. It's a little alarming.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows how a catheter works?
Well I worked in the medical field for a while and I know how it works. The nurse inserts a tube into the bladder. The end of the tube inflates like a balloon, because water is injected to inflate the end of it. Once that happens, the end that is in the bladder can not come back out, because it is inflated. Then the urine can drain into a bag.

Well I was wondering if it would be possible to create some sort of tube like this. The end of it would go deep into the oil pipe, and then the end is inflated with something and this will plug the hole, while the oil is siphoned off.

I don't know if it would be possible to create a giant catheter for the oil spill, but if it works in the body, maybe it would work for the oil spill!

If the same cameras are always in the same frame on the sanaracreations page, it was Ocean Intervention III / ROV 1

Peace

Any catheter I've ever seen wasn't of the best construction. Not in the sense that it failed in it's job, far from it, they are excellently designed, but in the sense of doing a fairly strenuous job under immense pressures a larger catheter wouldn't last too long.
The materials used would have to be industrial grade to the max and on an insane scale to actually work.

I am still monitoring Skandi Rov2 and either they have zoomed in closer to the BOP or there is much more stuff coming out now. Personally I think they are losing control of the situation.

WOW! So much movement down there right now! The flow has got to be the strongest ive seen.
Enterprise ROV2 was definately on board about 10 minutes ago, although I only saw boots and gloves...no head shots to confirm gas masks.
Shoot, I leave for Key West Friday morning...not sure I want to be there!

Top hat is once again wobbling off. Flow is higher than normal.

It looks to me like the entire wellhead is moving around. That is new, isn't it? I've seen the cap move around before of course, but not the whole assembly.

Have fun! I lived there for a couple years. Check out Sunny Days Catamarans on Elizabeth and Greene Streets, do one of their sunset sails on the Caribbean Spirit - such a great way to enjoy the lovely sunset!

On topic - I've been watching periodically throughout the day on PBS live feed and that thing is moving around a LOT. But if I may apply my own life experiences to this situation, it can always get worse, and often it does.
