I find it absolutely wonderful, that the current administration is taking a very brutal stand in the middle east. If we are in fact about to back Israel on a strike on Iran in the middle-east, it is because the truth has finally become apparent to the most socialist, liberal, pollitically correct leader of this nation we have ever had. I'm sure that at the beginning Obama was simply directed by the super radical left wing of his party. At the beggining he probably just expected to get into office and pass the radical agenda of those who backed him through the entire race. The problem being, during and after his first hundred days in office, he started recieving daily security reports from the national intelligence agencies. Reports that the average American will never see. And at some point he said "holy &*%$, there really is a significant threat against the U.S. from foriegn entities." At that point he was not only forced to look at the Muslim extremists who are not exactly new, but he was forced to realize that the U.S. if showing weakness is vulnerable from dozens of countries on tise planet. He also at some point realized that if many of these countries had their way that every American citizen would be stoned to death, burned to death, hung, stabbed, shot, doesn't matter as long as every one of us is dead at the end of the day. I realize that there are many members on this sight who would wave flowers and sing "give peace a chance", The problem being our current enemies are brutal thugs that will shoot you in the neck and then shove your flowers of peace down your gaping throat. That is if you are male. If you are female they would gladly sell you into slavery where you are traded off between the most brutal males on this planet. You might as well forget about your children, they will be sold for the same purposes, and your daughters will be married off to these fundementalist warlords before they are twelve. I am tired of hearing about the plight of the barbarians who would gladly kill us all, rape our women, and put our children into slavery before creating a mandatory form of sharia law in our country. The only reason the U.S. has lasted the 200 plus years that it has, is because we have never turned the other cheek. We do not need to be the bully, we need to be the proactive savior of the people our natural enemies would enslave and kill. If we do not, then not only are we surely next, we are the first in line.

Maybe some of what you say is true. There are people who would love to see the U.S. die in a massive burning attack that would destroy all of us Allahless infidels. Gosh, our women are allowed to roam freely and show their boobs, not to mention their faces. Gasp!!

Really, though, don't you consider these folks are really, really tired of the U.S. butting into their countries? I'm not a barbarian, but I could become one if another country's military kept interferring into my country's business.

I hope I am not going off topic here, but before the 2008 POTUS elections, I was spending some time with my friends in Israel. All but one sang the praises of Obama. He's cute, he speaks well, he cares, he will be the saviour of Israel. The one lone dissenting person claimed a Republican would be elected POTUS. I told them all, they were wrong.

And I believe I am right about that to this day.

For sure I wouldn't want some brutes to create Sharia law here, and I wouldn't want my daughters to be taken into marriage with such brutes. I would fight against it, for sure.

As far as the U.S. existing for a few years over 200. That's a short time considering the histories of previous empires. And that is, in my opinion what the U.S. is attempting to become. An empire. And it's not working out well.

Funny, I am a conservative person, in the vein of the liberals from 1776. I see nothing of conservatism from our "conservative" party. And nothing of liberalism in our "liberal" party. They've both lost their way, and our country is quickly losing it's way. And I have doubts that the rest of the world will put up with our crap for many years longer.

Was it good that Rome was eventually forced to retreat within smaller borders? Was it good that Persia finally was forced to withdraw from conquest? Was it good that Japan was forced to reconsider its desires to control the East? Was it good that Greece soon had to withdraw into it's natural borders? Was it good that the USSR finally had to concede that it could not rule so many different and diverse cultures and countries? Of course it was. Was it good that Britain finally lost it's ability to call itself the empire where the sun never sets? Yes. In my opinion. And will it be good if the U.S.A. finally gets it's act together and pulls back from it's empire desires? For sure.

ARGH! WALL OF WORDS! (The Enter Key is your friend)

Iran is Israel's problem not the United States, Iran in all honesty could care less about the United States, fact of the matter is, Iran has never attacked anyone. Sure they may saber rattle and be blowhards, but until they actually do something, chances are they won't.

Yeah, paragraphs are your readers' friends.

Too much crap about Iran. I don't get it. Not in the sane world, anyway.

As a friend of many Isreali folks, who are actually nice people, I tell them from time to time, get out of there. It's not good for your health. Living in fear in a foreign land that you somehow believe is yours because England gave it to you, is not good.

You want to be not hated and considered evil Jews, then go back to the country of your origins. and as for your kids, well, you should have stayed in England, France, Germany, Poland or the U.S.

I love what they have all done with the land, but it's not appreciated by the rest of the peeps who were displaced so they could create a nice place for themselves.

The Israeli culture is very foreign to the rest of the folks in the area. What has happpened is northern European Jewish folks brought their European ideas to the region. It doesn't work. This is like northern U.S. citizens moving to the south of the U.S. and bringing with them a much less personal approach to business dealings, wanting immediate actions, while southern folks want to consider exactly what sort of person you are before entering into a deal with you.

Freaking damned Yankees and freaking North European Jews.

Oh, the impatience of these folks. lol.

Why don't people like me? Well, cuz you are attempting to change their long held beliefs in how business and social interactions are supposed to be in these new, to you, areas. That's why.

" If we are in fact about to back Israel on a strike on Iran in the middle-east"

Why not let Israel attack Iran on their own?
Or do they need big brother (US) to help them??

Its not the average US citizens problem.

Where would Israel be today without the US?

I think that's my point too, if Israel wants to piss off the whole middle east, why is it the United States' problem?

True, but the fact is,
What has Iran done to anybody?

They have abided by the IAEA far more than Israel has.
They have accepted inspectors which Israel has not.

So whats the US's problem with Iran?

They should be more concerned about Israel's refusal to accept they have nuclear weaponsw and therefore do not have any IAEA inspections.

I never understand the abject fear of foreign nations built into the American psyche. We have the world's most powerful and expensive military, each year we spend more on the military than the rest of the world combined. We have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the planet and our technology is so advanced, there is no place on the planet that we can't monitor and attack within hours. Our military owns the air, the sea, the land and even space.

Yet there is a large part of the population that actually think a disorganized collection of Islamic states with nothing but a tiny collection of antiquated military hardware, are going to overrun us and cut off our heads. When an individual has this kind of irrational fear and starts to act on it, stockpiling weapons and threatening attack, we would be seriously concerned about their mental health and remove them from society. When a nation acts this way, the world has a serious problem.

In the last 10 years, we've attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan (they didn't threaten us), overthrown Iraq (they didn't threaten us), and made constant threats of war against Iran (they didn't threaten us). Which nation is the real threat here?
