I read somewhere on here that these warnings have a limited shelf life. Is this correct and if so, how long do they last?

to me it should depend on what the warning was given for.

If you are warned for a one line response.... warning stays for 3 days.

If you are warned for getting out of hand and really flaming someone... warning stays for 7 days.

If you are warned and banned for a period of time and then allowed to come back, then the warning stays forever.

If you buy one of those new vacuum-sealer machines and freeze them, warnings can keep for up to a year, without losing any of their vitamin content.

Man if only I had someone whiny I could warn to find out how long they last.

But where would I find such a person?

How many does someone need for the next stage of punishment?

Is the next stage a 72 hour ban?

each individual warning takes 72 hours to expire. After you get 5, 5 that none have expired yet, its an automatic posting ban. Then usually, you and a staff member will discuss what you did, and hopefully you'll get the posting banned removed.

PS Incedentally, do you know that

Man, vomit all over my best Blue Raja outfit!

Now who can I wipe it off on? It would need to be someone with no avatar...

Hyperen, the automatic code puts a posting ban in place if someone has 5 warnings (until they start to wear off). But realistically, its very unlikely someone would rack up 5 warnings in 3 days without further action (such as global ignore) being taken until the reasons for the warnings can be resolved.

Maybe the better question is: how to avoid the warning in the first place? Negating concerns as to the length of any sanction, and preventing any undue humiliation to the bearer of the Scarlet Laundry Tag. Just a thought.
