What did you hear them say?

What things did you hear your family, friends and others say just in conversation when you were a child that were actually predictions that have come true?

I recall once as a child hearing my Mom fuss about the fact that 2 weeks worth of groceries costed 25.00 predict that someday in the future a weeks worth of groceries would cost over 60.00

I also recall my father saying that he bet in the future people would actually buy bottled water just like they would softdrinks. we all laughed it was such a silly idea to think of anyone paying for water. We lived in the country and got our water from a spring.

My Granny used to tell me that I was going to be a beautiful man when I grew up . And well, she was right about that. But she also always told me that I was going to be a famous singer. That hasn't happened yet. Unless you consider 3rd place at the local Karaoke contest fame.
