I can't belive that the oil spill is still going on, I've been watching it since day one and I think at day 4 - 5 I really realize, what a big deal this whole thing is. Is this really how our future going to be like, an entire ocean turned black by oil, and basically dead? This all seems like one of does bad future movies, and it only seems like that we have enterd a new age, a new era in human kind and is defitnly not a good one.

If any of you people watched it since day one, do you remeber how they said it wasen't big deal and they will fix it, and now they still haven't fixed it. If they where succesfull at catching atleast some amount of the oil, they would be way more clean up crew out there to finally clean everything up, but I am guessing that they can't even do that, as their are problay streams underwater that make the spill unpredicatble, I am just guessing thats how they are thinking, one point or another when they plugged the hole they will start the clean up, as their is no real point of cleaning things up right now if a million barrels of oil are gushing out of the ocean. (i am guessing a million, as it seems like every week they have a new number)

well one question i have is remeber in the beginning there where like 2 - 3 leaks, and they will showing only the smaller one, until one day cnn kinda leaked the major spill, what ever happen to the other 2 smaller leaks? It just seems so weird that they are only showing one tiny part of the well, i mean is it that hard to move the bot 40 degrees down or up?

Why don't they try slowly shutting down the well, if there is so much pressure, why not just put a valve there and slowly close this thing down, so there are no other leaks around the area? Or just try to put a giant hose where the leak is so atleast you have some kinda control on where the oil is going ( straight to the surface)

it seems like after 62 days everyone is now on vacation and the media is trying to divert attention as much as possible, or is it just that there are so many gov. people out there trying to stop people from leaking any more information. I dont know, all I know is this is a bigger deal, then any of you think it is, and that honestly, nothing really is being done. If i was president, I would atleast go to defcon 3 or even 2, and send a large amounts of whatever they need there...

well thinking for a second and i have one more question, don't you think this is weird that couple years ago , a giant hurrican almost destroyed new orleans, and now all of the sudden we have this oil gush, I personaly think if we are ever going to see harrp live in action, is going to be to be in that area, problay explains why there so many goverment people there. This is modern cold war, warefare at is finest, the enemy just basically renderd a large amount of US soil, worthless. Is funny that all of this is caused by the british, and if I know one thing about the elite, they loved to use signs to show there presence. We are in a war in afghanistan, which finally they came clean and told everyone that there is lots of different resources there. Maybe the chines, or even the entire communist gang, is trying to slow us down. Or maybe BP elite , got tired of US, and had some kinda grudge to do this on purpose, I highly doubt, they even cared that something like this could ever happen, because it was all on the us soil. You can even tell how long it took them to buy there way into Cable tv, like cnn, and goverment people. If you watch the last 62 days, you will know how the elite works.. This is not like 9/11 where it happen in a couple of hours, this has been going on for 62 days... so be on the look out for storms heading towards that area then all of the sudden moving away, you might learn how far we come in weather warfare... America is being attack, very obiously, by different powers, that lead to the same source, to many huge events have happen in just a couple of years

Doesn't anyone understand the fact that the U.S has no money? The government is broke, they can't afford to pay for this oil spill. So they are constantly pointing at BP to get the job done, and pay for all the losses citizens have taken. The government won't shell out any money, and won't give many resources to help because they simply do not have the money. Look at the arizona drug war.... they don't have the money to stop it. Simple as that.

What did ya think they were gonna do? Get a giant sink stopper to seal the leak? I dont know how old you are, but the Ixtocl (sp?) oil spill of June 3, 1979 took 9 months to finally stop flowing and it was in less than 300 ft of water!!! Now they are going through almost a mile of water and then God only how much farther down below the seabed. There is no quick fix to this problem, compound it with the methane hydrates coming out as well, its a disaster that even Hollywood could not dream up.

What's weird to me is that some people are saying that the disaster in the GoM is the diversion and others are saying they're diverting our attention from it. This is pretty atypical in my experience. Usually it's a lot clearer what's a diversion and what's not. Guess it depends on your perspective.

In any case, I will agree that it appears the mainstream "news" media seems to be losing their enthusiasm for the story, as is their typical pattern. They'll still "cover" it, but with only cursory mentions now and then, and then they'll lose interest altogether, and as they go, so does the average public.

Not only do we still have a problem in the gulf with the oil coming out of the well faster and faster everyday but now we have the scariest scenario coming into development. The national hurricane center is forecasting a tropical depression heading right twards the oil and with close to 90 degree water there is no way this wont become a hurricane.

Here is what is going to happen.....

We are all going to die. Apparently it is going to be a very slow and agonizing death. Lack of oxygen, methane explosions in the Gulf causing tsunamis and a whole lot of looting and pestilence to go with it afterwards.

I heard it on the AM radio last night.

Well, at least we'll have the looting going for us. Maybe the zombie invasion will happen as well before it's all over.

What is apparent is that while we have enough oil to destroy all the oceans, we still suffer under a tremendous "oil shortage".

It is all now being revealed as the price-fixing scam it always has been. There is not nor ever has been an "oil shortage".

It was just a scam to separate you from your money.

Hurricane Katrina did little damage and certainly didn't "almost destroy" the city of New Orleans.

The corrupt political machines on the local, parish, and state level spent no money on maintaining the levies that protect the city. As usual, the elite decided it would be better to enrich themselves instead of securing the infrastructure of the city.

It was the politicians that destroyed New Orleans not an innocent hurricane bringing warmth and moisture to the continent.

Katrina was long gone by the time the totally unmaintained levies gave way.

But the politicians sure got everyone shaking an angry fist at "that darn hurricane!"

You are absolutely right. NO was fine after the storm passed. It wasn't until many hours later---almost a day later?---that the levies collapsed, bringing disaster. There was rumor that not only had the levies not been properly maintained, but also could have been purposely aided in giving way.

People have been TOLD what to believe despite the facts. When you chant "Hurricane Katrine" enough, it sticks. People have allowed the mantra to blind them to the true facts that were brought out. Many have forgotton the truth and accepted the 'hurricane" lie.

Now don't forget the story that circulated about GWB blowing up the levees with a barge full of explosives!

How would Obama like the same treatment?

As a resident of the Treasure Coast of Florida and being a network admin we tend to keep up on the weather here.

As of right now everyone is going to have to sit tight until this mass of weather makes it way to a buoy. Flights I believed are scheduled for tomorrow to go into the storm to see whats up.

As of now it is not yet a tropical depression and there is no circulation. However there is tons of moist air for this thing to grow and little to none wind shear to break it apart.

Jeff Masters thinks this system may develop into a depression by Thursday and a possible tropical storm by the weekend. After that tropical storm Alex will have a possible grand entry into the gulf where its a bath tub of energy.

Check out weather underground and the blog there if you guys are interested. The science talk can be a little overwhelming but it is very interesting to read the comments by amateur and professional meteorologists.
