Yeah, did you miss the sermon or something? The Church of NASA, in their infinite God-given wisdom, decided we have 8 planets, and everything else is
a planetoid or a protoplanet, basically nothing to even bother with or be concerned about. We got 8 planets, that`s it. No reason to search for any
extra planets that may be out there because you will not be credited for discovering a new planet. So why waste your time searching for icy rocks when
we have telescopes that can discover galaxies and other more interesting things? Who cares if Nibiru comes along out of nowhere? No I`m just kidding
but I`m one of those who got ticked off when Pluto`s status was reclassified (downgraded). Who cares if there`s a larger than pluto object out there?
It can be a planet too. And who cares if pluto would grow a cometlike tail if it were in earth`s orbit? THE FACT IS, That will never happen. The sun
will go nova before that would come to pass and who says a planet has to be made out of certain materials? Pluto is ice & rock mostly and it stays
solid in it`s orbital distance from the sun. Sure, when it actually has an atmosphere (its orbit, like ours, brings it closer to the sun at some
points, creating an atmosphere at these times which goes away when it gets further away from the sun ) some of the material evaporates off, but it
doesn`t seem to be goin anywhere anytime soon. And it may have an erratic orbit that crosses the orbit of another planet, but imagine the same thing
happened between venus & murcury, would that effect their status as a planet? What if Saturn had a verticle orbit? Would it then be in danger of
having it`s planetary status revoked? No, I don`t think so.
