Americans, list of cities against the Patriot Act.

And, am I confused thinking that even in these cases, Federal law over rides any local laws and ordinances?

lots of people are against taxes too....seems to me the govt could have declared martial law.....start rationing food, gas , goods...enforce water, electrical usage....they havent....so I still believe in america....I give the govt the benefit of the doubt....as we are at war.....even thought the govt hasnt done much for me

The Feds will enforce the Patriot Act anywhere in their jurisdiction, but the local police will not enforce it if they have outlawed it. THere will be no joint partnership between state/local police and the federal government to enforce that law. That is not to say they will not investigate it, just not in the way the Patriot Act allows.
That is my understanding from the federal raids on Medical Marijuana, which californian officials refused to help.

Just out of curiosity don't the states have the ability to mobilize the National Guard to keep out federal officers? Isnt that something the constitution guarantees?

Indy, are you thinking about militias? The Guard is the Feds.

That's to be expected though, I live in the middle of a Bush-supporting community.

Yup, were on the list. City of Seattle is, and the entire King County area is. But thats to be expected. Its very anti Bush out by my way, Seattle being either extreme leftist, or extremely antri govornment/anti feds, even conservatives here hate the govornemnt.

My particular city isnt on the list, however, Boise is on the list, and its very near me.
