Why Hasn't BP thought of this?

Hey I was wondering why don't we route the oil towards the sea floor then freeze it?

The sea floor is collapsing, so why don't we plug it with oil and freeze it as soon as we are done?

If you have seen my diagram then we could move the bottom part downwards and add a certain chamber that is directed toward the sea floor and add a timed freezing system. This system could turn itself on once it stops the cracking.

do you realize how difficult it would be
to freeze anything at 80,000psi ????
to my knowledge, it can't be done.

That would be equivalent to strapping your
self to the outside of the space shuttle with a rope and
trying to hang on during a launch.

I've tried that once and it's a lot easier than you'd think.

I would suggest using highly pressurized nitrogen to freeze it. Mostly because nitrogen is cheap and it can most likely to be directed at a single place in that kind of pressure.

It can be done part of you will rip off and the part of you that remains will probably be disintegrated while they get in orbit.

Full marks for effort in coming up with an alternate idea, but freezing it will not work, first of all even if it could be done, it'd de-frost and we'd be back at square one.
I'm sorry to say it but me putting half a cup of dish soap down the sink here in Thailand would have more of an effect than freezing.

With the millions of starving Mexicans apparently queing to reach the USA shores couldnt they be supplied with empty tuna cans?
They could wade in their millions into the surf and collect the spiled oil, hey presto add a bit of tuna ,sell it on to the third world and problem solved?

Tuna and BP Oil , mmm.

ACTUALLY just the pressure from the oil and the capping of a 1 yard thick layer of nitrogen would keep the plug plugged. Freezing it is just a more helpful attempt at keeping it solid.
