Deepwater's Death Clouds?

This is disturbing.

Just when I think this crisis can't get any worse, it does.

I can't say that I didn't expect this. I knew there would be at the very least minor health issues, but for them to say you should relocate tells me they are expecting it to possibly get bad.

Possible scenario:

1. It gets really bad and the fumes/gases pose serious health risk to a majority of the nearby population.

2. Said population is warned that they need to move out.

3. Most of said population refuse.

4. Self explanatory.

That's just my conspiracy hat talking of course, but things are not looking good. I feel for the people that are/will be affected by this.

I'll really hope people take this subject more seriously.

What you can't see, can kill you.

If you wanted to disarm a bunch of armed citizens, would you go in guns a blazen, or would you just flush em out with chemicals?

What makes me feel sick is that BP has been allowed to control almost everything we see and hear about this crisis.

It is appalling that BP has a paid goon squad enforcing a media blackout near the beaches and over the whole area.

I guess the government is so in bed with the oil companies that they will turn over control of a crime scene to the criminals.

This crisis will go down in history as the worst managed ever by any president or administration.

People know it and the temperature of the American people is rising, IMHO.

I think this actually ended up being the result of a leak from a near by chemical plant. Don't remember which one, but it was unrelated to the BP spill as far as I remember.

I hate cross posting in two similarly related threads, but dammit, I couldn't commit to one.

You continue to bring the most profound videos and reports to the table, IMO. Just when I begin to fall back into thinking that perhaps it isn't as bad as I fear it is, you wake me up.

We should all be scared for what this is doing. Even the best case scenario. This is what I am coming to understand. Even if you DON'T buy into the doomsday theories, best case should still scare the h@ll out of any sane person.

Something that strikes me about the video of the lady in the farm. She spoke about the dead birds, and her concern about the crops, the horses... but she never mentions anything about her own health. BP has messed up big time... and it is they who are responsible for this mess. I am a resident of Florida and this angers me to the point where i begin to ask myself... can this really be happening? I remember watching a video about over population. An old man showed statistics and explained how its a major problem. It is scary to know that there are people out there who are purposely destroying the lives of those who actually are capable of living outside of the box... but that still doesn't give them the right to point at a region in the world and massacre people. I hate to be living in an era where i might have to fight in a war because of this atrocious situation. I believe in the power of all of us united... but a couple here and there... not a chance. My... OUR generation is screwed. I work in a restaurant, i see my generation coming in every Friday, and they are retarded. It's a shame no one seems to notice the hell hole we are about to be thrown in. People are wasting hundreds on alcohol, just drinking their lives away going to shame... yes, it is these people that the elite are referring to. The weak minded folks who buy into drinks and the whores that walk in with a new guy every other Friday. Its insane... and we are so close to this rig disaster and no one seems to want to get involved... just parties and clubs, parties and clubs... football.

I am bumping this up because I think it is an extremely good combination of clear, backed-up info.

People have been asking for proof about the toxic air levels and the news report is the best I have seen so far.

The crops with holes burned through them next to bird houses with dead birds hanging out of them is just.....unreal. Talk about the canary in the mine! How come every air quality/EPA/FDA/CDC specialist wasn't in the field behind her testing?

It just does not make any sense...

I live on the east coast of FL, the Space Coast and if they are giving out warnings like this I am leaving. I have never liked FL, the only thing I like here is the Space Program and well Obama axed that so I have nothing left here. It's sad cause the west coast of FL use to be really pretty and I bet it's not going to be looking so hot in the future. It's really sad, they had the better beaches....

This whole leak has really pissed me off though. I will talk to people about what is going on and the media blackouts and they dont want to listen! They just say I read ATS too much and I tell them ALL the info from ATS comes from other sources! I wish they would just read one of them!

I had an assignment in class recently where we had to compress 5 files and post them, well I figured why not compress the files I have received via ATS on the leak. I put the BP presentation on it as well as other ones on the leak. I did this on purpose so others could open it and read. I am hoping the titles will get them interested...Everyone else just used their previous weeks assignments...I had another idea It's worth a try. I have posted everywhere I can think of and the only people who seem to respond are other ATS members, everyone else is asleep! They need to wake up and smell the coffee or oil that is about to be in their back yard if it isn't already. I wish people would take it more seriously.

I am also a resident of FL and everyone I talk to doesn't seem to really care! I want to do something to help out but nobody wants to participate, all they care about is going to the beach! Yeah the beach! I told them if they enjoy the beach then they might want to help do something to clean it up because soon they won't be able to go to the beach.

I work in a bar and you are right all they care about is their next drink. I have a few smart ones that come in who are just as concerned but the rest of them are too far gone into their alcohol to even notice.

What concerns me more than the numbers of VOC released in the begining of May is that we are in the middle of June and nothing has been released since May 9. Why is there not a daily release of the ppm of theses toxic gasses.

Benzene is typically released when oil is burned. However, some vapors can evaporate and get into the environment without burning.
