Thank you Star Trek for Obama

Well not exactly.

But I always thought it was amazing how much influence Star Trek has had in our current society.

And as for the Star Trek link to Obama(if you're not already aware)

One of Star Trek: Voyager's stars was Jeri Ryan. We knew her as 7 of 9. She was married to Jack Ryan. Jack Ryan was the GOP candidate for senate who was running against Obama. Well Jack and Jeri had had seemed to have some marital issues that led to their divorce. And although they had a pretty civil divorce and agreed to have the records sealed, somehow they were unsealed and brought to the forefront during his campaign. This led to Jack withdrawing from the election, paving the way for Obama. And the rest, as we know, is history.

So there's the link to Obama and Star Trek. We've gotten cell phones, self opening door and many, many more. And now we have Obama. Hey not all links to Star Trek can be good ones.

I know, that's exactly what it is. I just thought that it was a little more lighthearted and fun than a lot of the threads on here.

Well to be honest, I never liked Voyager to begin with. The only good things about Voyager was The Doctor who was a hologram because he is a brilliant actor, and seven of nine because skin tight costumes on females makes me smile.

I don't think that was him, but I do believe he was in the "Whoomp, there it is" video.

I mean he was on a cell phone in it and we all know he was a tech junkie!

I was actually reading about that campaign earlier today and just wanted to say, from my understanding of what took place, it was a pretty silly thing that got him taken out of the election. Apparently what came out was that him and his wife once went to some sort of "sex party" of sorts. The senator said that they felt awkward and immediately left, whether that is true or not I don't think matters.

I always have to ask why social matters are so important in politics.
