I had such a strange disturbing dream this morning. I felt like I has being held down by something with huge hands, one on my lower back, one on the back of my head (I was lying on my stomach). It was like I could feel the pressure of being held down and was a little panicked. I got the thought, "to hell with this, I'm turning my head to look at what's holding me down", so I tried to turn my head. With great difficulty, I managed to do so, and then woke up.

Anyone ever have a dream like that? I could understand the not being able to turn my head being due to sleep paralysis, but it was not fun all the same..

EDIT: meant to say also - or am I having some dreams inspired by reading too many strange topics at ATS

It probably wasn't a dream. My husband has experienced it several times, & once he saw two "dark, shadowy figures" leaving just after it happened.

I told him to call on the Lord to remove them, & he did. He said that they are gone instantly when he does.

It could be any number of things. It could be your subconsious telling you that "the man" is holding you down

But in all seriousness- I have dreams all the time where a psychotic killer is chasing me and I have to beat him and get away. My mother would always dream of cleaning dirty toilets. I think our dreams tend to show us what subconsiously we are unaware of or are trying to work out.

Then again, spending hours each week on ATS doesent give our subconsiousness a break either

Well, I'm not sure if it was ATS inspired - I don't really read paranormal threads - but I think the urge to turn to face it may well be ATS inspired

Just call me "woken up"

I'm not a religious person, but I do meditate a lot. But couldn't what happens to your husband just be a dream? He calls on a higher power (what is a higher power to him) and they're gone? I'd say that both aspects could be in the mind. Not that it felt that way to me at the time, of course. I was rattled by it.

I might have wondered if it was just a dream, too, if it wasn't for some strange things that have happened to me as well.

I've never been held down, but I woke up one night, being shocked. There was no question about it being a dream. I was wide awake. I lay there trying to think what could be happening, & each shock was a little stronger than the one before. Finally, I realized that whatever it was, was going to kill me if it continued, so I said "Lord, please make this stop." It stopped instantly, & I heard a loud noise from outside that sounded like one of the noises a fox makes, only much louder.

We are both very spiritual, God fearing people. I would hate to have to face the spirit world if I wasn't.

I have had a lot of strange things happen while I was asleep, & I'm learning to tell the difference between just "mind wandering dreams" & out of body experiences.

If it happens again, you might try calling on God & see what happens.....

It happen to my wife as well.. a dark shadowy figure standing at our bedroom door long enough for my wife to sence it had a machilcious intent. She said it stood right at our bedroom door and stared at her, the face was obscure but she could tell it was facing her.

secs later, it disappeared and she called me and told me. We rebuked whatever evil was in the house; and we don't think it returned however, here's my ongoing thread of the happenings in our house .. and why did they put it in Gen Chit Chat.. grrrr..
