International directory of search engines

I was reading a thread here the other day about how BP had been buying up search terms, such as 'oil spill' and 'gulf of mexico' and then BP would ensure they got there link to the top of the page in the hope that many would go directly to their site to get updates.

Well, I was looking around and trying to find search engines that had not been affected by such corruption.. I did find a couple that were BP free which was good, but I also found some that I had never heard of but were still infected with BPs paw prints....

Some of the links included will be greatly helpful, others might not be able to provide much info except for local news etc, but, it allows us a method to get away from the big boys such as google and yahoo... which BP have got their claws deeply into.
