Let us see what the Constitution ACTUALLY states.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or
of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
So let us break it down, it is only 16 words long, cannot be that hard.
First component of the sentence-
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.
Pretty self explanatory, no law to be written that supersedes one religion over another or that the government enforces as the government's preferred
religion. Also again, the Congress will make no law.
Second component of the sentence-
Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise thereof.
Now, this is where the government has been messing up IMO. The separation of Church and State came from a Supreme Court opinion, which then began the
downward spiral in idiocy.
It simply states that Congress SHALL NOT prohibit the free exercise of religion. IMO that has been completely ignored. Do not like what someone is
espousing, SO WHAT? Do not listen to it. I have never seen an amendment that states you have the right to not be offended. If there is, please tell me
where that is written.
Now, the part that the drives me crazy. The part that has people like teachers or anyone paid by the government told they are not allowed their free
exercise of religion.
Again I ask you, where exactly does it say that someone that works in the government does not have the same rights as you and me.
Especially now that the government is pretty much taking over everything. Hell, the government owns Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They own 97% of the
mortgages in the country, hence they own 97% of the homes in the US. Hence, if you follow the government sycophants that want to destroy religion,
anyone with a mortgage owned by the government better not have a cross hanging in their home. They better not pray in their home.
Whatever!
