It appears that there are now many random plumes of oil several miles from the primary BP leak. This is causing much worry among NOAA, Environmental groups, government agencys and others. A friend of mine who is in the Coast Guard confirmed this information to me as legit and I have no reason to doubt it, so I thought I'd pass it on here. As I learned the concern is that the leak may be more massive than originally thought and cause fissures under the sea bed and allow uncontrollable numbers of plumes to go off. Or, as I was told there could be a major eruption of oil if that pocket where BP was drilling was big enough. The concern is that the pressure causing the current plume (main one) could cause an underground failure of the surrounding area and allow a much bigger eruption of oil to flow. Right now there is no way to stop it and those that are decision makers are meeting and discussing all of the possibilitys.

The media blackout in the minds of many may be due to the fact that if there is a massive plume that erupts, BP and others do not want it to get out into the public domain and cause additional anger, fear and hate directed at BP and other oil companys as well. Right now the gov & their oil buddys are playing damage control as much as they can. Public pressure has been so great that the BP CEO has now got Police protection due to the number of hate mail & death threats. If there is a massive uncontrollable oil leak it stands to ruin the ocean and change our lives forever.

well, one blowout can be an accident, but multiple gushers indicate sabotage.

who did it? where's the investigation? all quiet on the law front or what? this legal system appears to have collapsed long a go.

NOAA confirms that oil is floating as deep as 3,300 feet below the surface.

BP is still denying that plumes exist. I think someone needs to step in and take control of BP. Their not getting the job done and keep lying to the public about everything.

My understanding now is that the exit hole in the primary leak has gotten bigger. Not by much but still...
