Ok First let me tell you that I do "not" believe in the paranormal. Only because I have yet to see or hear or feel.
That being said I did was I was a little one have an experience! At least I think I did.
One night I remember I woke up to get something to drink. We lived in a 2 story house that was creepy anyway. As I walked down the hall it faces the stairway to the top floor.
Now I could swear by it (but then I would believe would'nt I)? At the top of the stairs I seen two bright red eyes coming toward me. I remember running to my room and getting under the covers and pluging my ears.
Now I felt a presence at the foot of my bed stare at me for a few seconds then I heard/felt the door shut.
What I m wandering is if any of you have experienced anything like this?

You do not believe in the paranormal, yet you had a paranormal event yourself? What kind of response do you want to hear? Do you want to hear that it was your imagination, so that you can remain content in your current belief system, or would you like to hear the alternate, likely alternative?

Yeah I must agree this sounds like a loaded question. xynephadyn pretty much said it. You do "not" believe in the paranormal, yet you have a paranormal experience and you want an Alternative thinking website to give you suggestions. Do you think it was a dream? Is that a possibility?

Seriously it could have been anything. A Dream even, only you would know exactly.

But I want to point something out about this word "paranormal".

Nothing is Para-normal.

If something exists in reality, than it is Normal, by definition.

If ghosts exist, it's normal.
If red eyed men exist, it's normal.
If mothman and demons and angels exist, it's all normal.

How can something be "beyond" normal? It doesn't make any sense.

Like I said, if it is real and exists, than by definition, it's Normal.

Granted this wasn't a dream I would be believing if I were you! Did you ever have this encounter again? Or did anyone else in your family?

once when i was 5 years old, i was at my baby sitters house which was an old woman- Jan, my neighbor. i remember this evening as plain as day. It was dark outside, Jan was asleep in her chair. i was looking out the window upon the front yard and what i saw was a tall sillhouete of a man, but with glowing, peircing eyes staring right back at me. It scared me so i awoke Jan. when she looked out the window he was gone. Thats my experience with this being that you speak of.

What did the man look like? I won't give away details until you provide me with your own description. I have a feeling that I know what it was that you saw.

Peace be with you.

Never seen any eyes...but I have had the whole presence at the foot of the bed. Mine, I could feel coming toward me and go through me??? At that very second , I had what sounded like a grown man scream in my ear.
The whole time I was to terrified to open my eyes. (this was in college)
Moved out that day and never had that expedience again.

lol

LIKELY? please ... we are systems, we can fail too ... who knows what he saw, maybe he was dreaming ... it is possible to dream you wake up and get out of your room ...

I dreamed one time something like that, scared, fell from the bed, saw my parents starring at me, something like that, very weird, but it is just a dream ...

so, for u to say that the likely alternative is something supernatural, man, thats just simply stupid

I believe you're not quite right with that explanaition... Anything seeable hearable smellable but what cannot be explained with known physics or science falls under the header of paranormal...

a good quote from a movie: "There are things that go BOO in the night..."

Well im guessing by the way you ran down the hall and jumped under the covers like a child that you were a child at the time.
Im going to say it was probably a late night sneaky uncle. It is common for children to not remember or replace memories with false ones after Psychological trauma.

Everyone knows the covers are a foolproof barrrier against the supernatural. Lucky you jumped under that Thomas the Tank bedspread and hid until he was gone.

YOu don't believe in the paranormal, so lets look for another normal soloution. YOu were dreaming. YOur pet spooked you. It was your imagination. Or Uncle Buddy wanted to play hide the salami and you replaced that memory with something else. Or you are simply making up the entire thing.

You think you saw red eyes. You probably watched a scary movie. Were scared of the dark. Paranoid and caught the reflection of a passing car or some other lightsource reflecting off something in the hall, or the window. Then it freaked you out and you jumped into bed.

Damn shame you didn't pull the covers off and get a good look. Now you have to live the rest of your life wondering if it was your imagination or if there is a demon stalking you. Hell he might be in your closet right now. Go check.

When I was ~5, my sister and I saw something very similar. Our rooms were side by side, there was just the one wall separating them - we both left our doors open, because our parents wanted to be able to hear us if we had issues. I remember I woke up for no discernible reason and when I looked at the door way, there was a figure, the outline of which was darker than the regular darkness of the house. No recognizable features except glowing yellow eyes. I remember seeing it look into my sisters room, then back into mine. I, too, hid under the covers, too scared even to scream. Years later, I found out my sister had the same experience, and while I can't say for certain, I would assume that it was the same exact night. I've always wondered about it, but never really pursued it - it only happened the one time, and I have a history of minor hallucinations. My sister confirming it doesn't really bother me - if ghosts and stuff do exist, I don't really fear them.
