Ladies and gents, it was a simple joke made on one of my threads called "Let's flush out Lizardman from South Carolina" which you can find under the first link provided.

The poem/word play was about Lizardman from S.C. and the ATS poster Whatuknow put up a picture of Carville and suggested that it was Lizardman the cryptoid
www.belowtopsecret.com...

It was pretty funny and everyone on that thread had a good time IMHO.
Then early last week Stephen Colbert did almost the exact same thing with a flash of Carville's face and a reference was made to Carville being a reptile , LMAO; only they called him a "Louisiana albino bayou cobra"

Lol.

Is he known for being compared to a lizard? Is that an old joke and I'm missing it? I mean I'm well aware of the belief which some people have about shape-shifters and politicians, but that's not what this is. And Carville, of all people?
Did they see my thread over there at Comedy Central
? If so I'm honored.

Here is a clip from a show even more recently, from yesterday, when Carville is actually on and they are talking about Colbert's joke. It's the episode from June 7th 2010.

Did Whatuknow and I capture the attention of Colbert, his writers , and the folks at Comedy Central for a moment? Is it synchronicity-esque?

Interesting...

I've often heard him referred to as "Skeletor" ... but not as a lizard or a snake, though that may reference his personality/character (yes/no/maybe???) Lol.

Glad you find it interesting LadySkadi. Your reply made me smile

I saw that episode. Love that show.

Also, how is this surprising to you?

In the very same episode, right before the Carville joke, he said something a lot like "Hey I make sure to keep on top of this stuff". What he means is "Hey I spend all day on the Internet reading stuff at weirdo places like ATS."

You gotta read in between the lines.

But yeah, I do think his people (or him) keep tabs on ATS topics. He always seems to discuss big issues from the Internet prior to the MSM picking up on it.

I consider Colbert one of the most savvy and up to date people on TV. And he's extremely funny.

Sad that his sponsors and bosses are forcing him to keep it on the down low. He used to really rip politicians to shreds and then some, but after he went big time he now is not allowed to obliterate them the same way he used to.

That is just my personal conspiracy theory about Colbert (and to other extents, the Daily Show as well).

I missed that but I do remember ten or eleven years ago, great mention was made about how Carville and Iggy Pop were the two finalists for the role of Gollum in Lord of the Rings.

I've heard of him called snakehead and copperhead also. In fact in a post about his recent rant about the gulf disaster I refered to him as "old snakehead". It is an old joke and an acurate one. Just look at him, it's easy to imagine a forked tongue sticking out of his mouth while he speaks
. On that note, forked tongue or not he speaks the truth
.

Colbert rules. I'm moving him up onto my metaphorical wall, the one that only has dudes with platinum balls.
where thus far only Ron Paul, Charlie Sheen, and Jesse Ventura reside

Maybe Colbert will have his own contract with HBO the way Bill Maher does one of these days. Then he can go back to ripping without limits.

That's funny and interesting. Not the same though. And I don't get the Iggy Pop part at all.

Lol, I see where you are coming from. But I wish I had a clip of the original C.R. episode where he just flashes Carville's face up on the screen and then calls him a lizard; lmao, it reminded me so much of the way the joke was laid out in the BTS thread.

I love that you are on the Reverse Disinfo Discovery team , my friend

I just saw that in your avvy lol

Your ATS comedy is by no means threatened if this is true. You just have WUK coming up next to your flank is all

Carville is paid to convince people that while the Republicans are war mongers, that's what America's all about. I think it's safe to say anyone would act a bit reptilian if that was their job.

That part was a joke, neither Stephen Colbert, nor I , nor ATS member WUK was suggesting that Carville was actually a reptilian.
