Declaring a swine flu pandemic was a 'monumental error', driven by profit-hungry drug companies spreading fear, an influential report has concluded. It led to huge amounts of taxpayers' money being wasted in stockpiling vaccines, it added.

Paul Flynn, the Labour MP charged with investigating the handling of the swine flu outbreak for the Council of Europe, described it as 'a pandemic that never really was'

The report accuses the World Health Organisation of grave shortcomings in the transparency of the process that led to its warning last year. The MP said that the world relied on the WHO, but after 'crying wolf', its reputation was in jeopardy.

The report questions whether the pandemic was driven by drug companies seeking a profit. Mr Flynn said predictions of a 'plague' that would wipe out up to 7.5million people proved to be 'an exaggeration', with fewer than 20,000 deaths worldwide.

Britain braced itself for up to 65,000 deaths and signed vaccine contracts worth £540million. The actual number of deaths was fewer than 500 and the country is now desperately trying to unpick the contracts and unload millions of unused jabs.

Pharmaceutical companies, however, profited to the tune of £4.6billion from the sale of vaccines alone.

The Council of Europe inquiry heard allegations that the WHO had downgraded its definition for declaring a pandemic last spring - just weeks before announcing there was a worldwide outbreak.Source: www.dailymail.co.uk...

Well now, There you have it. All for Fn Greed!!! There won't be any arrest or trials, Nothing. The perfect crime. These companies and the Gov't Officails that get invovled are no better than Oganized Crime Organizations. Actually worse than the Mafia as they use the law and thier powers to hide thier actions or lie/cover up when caught!.

I'm tell you, Someday, the common people will fight back.... I hope I am alive to see it.

I am so glad I did my own research and tuned into the info being put out in threads on here, that We didn't get the shot. SO glad.

Makes this about the biggest scam/conspiracy to be put on the World Public. ? In recent times anyways

Come on now. I know with 4 stars-that one of you has to have something to say about this topic.

No defenders of the Drug Companies in our midst? lol

I guess it is a hard one to defend-for the Drug Companies

Heh, I am one of those starrers and flaggers.

I almost just thought, "why even bother commenting, this type of stuff is so predictable anymore."

But it is absolutely disgusting just how twisted these mega-corps have become, and frightening the amount of power they hold over the governing institutions. This world is governed by corporations right now, and this is just further proof of it. This is a highly dangerous combination, that we the people must reverse. We must take back control from these endlessly greedy entities.

Big Pharma influencing the WHO:

This is a confidential pharmaceutical industry trade association dossier about the WHO Expert Working Group (EWG) on R&D Financing.

The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA; "Big Pharma") gave its members 4 documents: a non-public draft report of the WHO EWG and a non-public Comparative Analysis done by the working group, the IFPMA Overview of the EWG

Comparative Analysis, and IFPMA summary slide on the EWG Draft Report.

The compilation of documents shows the influence of "Big Pharma" on the policy making decisions of the WHO, the UN body safeguarding public health. These confidential documents were obtained by the drug industry before their public release to WHO member states (scheduled to be released May 2010). The document also illustrates that the WHO expert group was highly responsive to industry lobbying — a result that public health groups had feared since early 2009, when the expert group met with the industry, but refused to meet with public health groups known to be industry critics.

The likely audience for these documents include countries, public health policy makers, civil society, industry, academia, media, patients and the general public.

You know what? I totally forgot we even had a 'swine flu' outbreak last year... where did it go? what happened?

It's very strange that the whole thing has just passed and been brushed under the carpet... i can't believe that all this was just some hoax to get people scared and to bring monies to some pharmacutical companies....

What sort of world do we live in?

It seems we are stuck in a greedy and corruptive one.

DD, I hear ya, as I have been in the mindset that I've seen it all(pretty much) here on ATS over the years and posting has done nothing about any of it, so it feels kind of useless at times.

As you said, it's become so very predictable.

Yelling and screaming about it on the net does nothing, changes nothing. I am unrepresented(I know this because it says it above my nickname lol) and voting is rigged, making that a useless endeavor, so what does that leave us with? Voting them out does nothing at all as the corporations/TPTB will have someone else groomed to put in their place.

If the game is rigged, why play in the first place? What other choices do we have except one that involves death and bloodshed?

We must take back control from these endlessly greedy entities.

I agree, but how? Who, exactly, do we go after? All the head honchos of the corps? The politicians who have enacted the insane laws that protect the corp. and not us? The damned lobbyists? Even then, it still doesn't take away the personhood status granted the corporations over the years.

Even if we, as a country, as a species, whatever, stood up and fought, who would we fight? This particular story has Big Pharma as the bad guys, so we go fight them? How do we fight the people that are enacting the laws, as we all know that Big Pharma had a huge part in writing the lovely health care bill we have just been saddled with.

Ugh, it's such a huge mess all around. Truthfully, I don't know what to do anymore.

It will take a different shift in perspective, on a massive scale. No real 'battle' is necessary. We must return to the ways of old imho. Form smaller, self-sustained communities. Although this appears a long-shot from our standpoint of technological dependency, it can be done. Look at the amish. Look to our ancestors. They did this for tens of thousands of years, without such dependencies of government and technology.

No. This is exactly what has to happen. People, concerned people, talking about it and getting the info out and about to as many as we possibly can.

When that day comes for us to take back the Gov't (by force or by vote) we need as many educated and informed people as possible.

So... Chins up, fingers and mouths running & spreading the word/truth.

If we don't, who will?

A stunning new report reveals that top scientists who convinced the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare H1N1 a global pandemic held close financial ties to the drug companies that profited from the sale of those vaccines. This report, published in the British Medical Journal, exposes the hidden ties that drove WHO to declare a pandemic, resulting in billions of dollars in profits for vaccine manufacturers.

Several key advisors who urged WHO to declare a pandemic received direct financial compensation from the very same vaccine manufacturers who received a windfall of profits from the pandemic announcement.

I personally knew 2 people who came down with the flue. One was in very bad shape in the hospital for a few days, the other just showed extreme flu symptoms. Both survived...without the vaccine. Whether or not it would have helped, who can say. But as for them labelling it a 'pandemic', out of the 500 or so people I know personally, 2 contracted it.

Did they actaully get tested for Swine Flu or just the virus stand? It was reported that 85% of samples didn't get the actual swine confirmation test-just a confirmation of the Swine strand family.

My son had it too, did just find after the 2nd day. About 34% of his school contracted a swine family virus-that is when we found out about the different types of the swine strain and the different levels of testing.

What planet are you living on? We got the swine flu heavily here in SC.
My 2 children had a mild flu, but I was sick for a month with it and felt like I was getting pneumonia pretty quickly into the flu. I took avelox samples from ER doctor in law and it seeed to kill the pneumonia, which I had previously in 2000. It was aggressive very contagious flu. We did not do vaccines because most of the state had it before the shots were available.
My husband's job site bought gallons of hand sanitizer and face masks.
Those adults mostly seemed to not get it since they were not around children much. It was not a hoax. It was a contageous nastly flu bug.

The swine flu did/does exist-just not in a lethal form as indicated and followed up on with the WHO alerts adn the State Govt's.

Which I assume will be lining up at the feed counter to either get paid back for all of the shots and the surplus laying around or they are going to sue the dickens out of the Companies whol made $$$.

I hope.

The swine flu has been around in different mutation strains since before the great 1918 pandemic.

People through the years has created natural immunity thanks to our mothers genes.

Then the big pharma try to cash out in 1976 with disastrous results.

Every so often a new strain comes around affecting certain groups within the population and then people again creates natural immunity to it, until the next mutation.

Our bodies are more than capable to fight this by itself.

But as usual those that are with deficiencies in their immune system will be suffering the most.

As the rates of more immunodeficiency diseases keeps growing the more casualties of viral and bacterial pandemics will be there.

And we know that this is a growing trend in the US.

Remember that people died from the results of pneumonia related complications than from the virus itself.

Anybody that suffer from asthma, immunodeficiencies diseases should always be careful during any flu season.

Also the flu season last year was even milder than the year before.

Star.

What pisses me off is now we know we can't trust the W.H.O either!!!

I agree, but also poses another big problem, skeptical people will be more vulnerable to real dangerous pandemics than those that trust the big pharma and government.

But I think we are smart enough to make sure that next time we thin out the hoax from the real thing like many were able to do during the swine flu.

Maybe you have a little too much faith in people-overall. I see them like cattle being lead to the kill house-overall.

I think they far out-number the smarter ones. Thats the problem. The end up like mind-numb bots following Big Brother down the path of doom-Especially if the leader sounds good doing it.

The Gov't can't be trusted to ensure our health and well-being, only you can.
