Allow me to be the first to star and flag this thread. It does not surprise me. The first thing we need to do is purge our government of people with Israeli citizenship.

Isreal is blockading what they consider to be terrorists. Terrorists? Seems to me there was plenty of notice to Israel that this was a humanitarian mission. They also we're aware of who else was on these ships.
The flotilla tried running the blockade and were stopped. So Israel can blockade anywhere they want include International waters???
So I'm wondering why anyone is surprised this would happen?????
No surprise here. Business as usual they hoped .....Not this time I think.

yep, I can see how these ships were a huge threat to Israel. ships packed with humanitarian aid PLUS caring people that are sick of seeing the open air concentration camp ignored by their governments. Thats one hell of a threat. the phoney film they spliced together is a joke too.

The facts are clear.
Israeli terrorists committed murder, injury, theft and piracy in international waters, on a convoy of aid ships heading to deliver aid to the people the Israeli's hammer into the dirt on a daily basis.
They are the facts.
I'm only saddened that the ships were NOT armed to the teeth, and couldn't blow the evil terrorists out of the air and water.
Sickening murderers are running Israel into the ground.
If you really are pro-Israel and want to do something for them, i'd suggest urging every Jew and Israeli you know, to kick every Israeli lunatic murderer out of power, before they end up destroying the country and everyone in it.

The Headline for this thread startled me because I thought President
Obama was pro-Muslim / anti-Israel. Why would his "Regime" block
any condemnation of Israel?
Last week, Rahm Emmanuel was heckled at every stop in Israel. His
level of security was unprecedented for a "mere" Chief-of-Staff.
Story: www.huffingtonpost.com...
It seems that Israel is not too fond of the Obama White House. So why
would his "regime" go against the tide and block condemnation. Doesn't
make sense.

Hamas are the democratically elected and legitimate government, for Israel to deny that is to deny the Palestinian people themselves.
And i think calling it a 'war' between Hamas and Israel gives people the wrong impression, these are caged, humiliated, disillusioned and desperate people firing pitiful rockets at a country with one of the most technology advanced and capable militaries in the world which is illegally occupying their land and brutally oppressing them.

I get that there is a war, the soul meaning of a blockade is war, it means Israel is at war against the whole of Gaza:
That being said, Hamas can be at war with the whole of Israel:
Hamas can throw as many home made fireworks towards Israel and kill civilians, that would be legitimate in this case:
The thing is, Palestinians are in a huge disadvantage,
and I would like at least one strong country in the International community to support the Palestinian cause and to push the Palestinian agenda.
We all know the weak won't be heard, that is why Turkey stepping in is a huge step in balancing the two sides
Peace won't be achieved if one side is too powerful,
Israel doesn't want peace, if it did, it could have had it long, long time ago.
It wants land and power, and it wants to safe guard American interests in that region.
Israel made the devils deal, it will come back to haunt it.

First of all thanks for being nice abolut all this. Very refreshing!!
In my eyes there is a dominate factor thateven the UN recognizes that Israel is Occupying these areas.
Wikipedia
Following Israel's capture of these territories, settlements consisting of Israeli citizens were established within each of them. Israel has applied civilian law to the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem, incorporating them into its territory and offering their inhabitants permanent residency status and the possibility to become full citizen if they asked it. In contrast, the West Bank has remained under military occupation, and it and the Gaza Strip are seen by the Palestinians and most of the international community as the site of a future Palestinian state.[168][169] The UN Security Council has declared the incorporation of the Golan Heights and East Jerusalem to be "null and void" and continues to view the territories as occupied.[170][171]
The status of East Jerusalem in any future peace settlement has at times been a difficult hurdle in negotiations between Israeli governments and representatives of the Palestinians. Most negotiations relating to the territories have been on the basis of United Nations Security Council Resolution 242, which calls on Israel to withdraw from occupied territories in return for normalization of relations with Arab states, a principle known as "Land for peace"
Unfortuantely in this world that the sword is mightier than then pen.

Obama Regime Blocks Condemnation of Israeli Crimes at UNSC Meeting

(visit the link for the full news article)
An emergency meeting of United Nation Security Council ended with United States once again blocking international efforts to condemn an Israeli attack on the peace flotilla on Monday morning.
A strong formal statement by Turkey demanding condemnation of Israel, a U.N. investigation, prosecution of those responsible for murder of peace activists, payment of compensation to the victims and an end to the Gaza blockade was vetoed by the US.
Presidential Statement
The full text of the presidential statement, to be issued as document S/PRST/2010/9, reads as follows:
“The Security Council deeply regrets the loss of life and injuries resulting from the use of force during the Israeli military operation in international waters against the convoy sailing to Gaza. The Council, in this context, condemns those acts which resulted in the loss of at least 10 civilians and many wounded, and expresses its condolences to their families.
