Struggling to convey command of the worsening Gulf of Mexico oil spill, the Obama administration is taking steps to distance itself from BP and is dispatching Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to the Gulf Coast to meet with federal and state prosecutors. The Holder trip could signal that the environmental calamity might become the subject of a criminal investigation.

They are also calling for more of the oil to hit landfall VERY soon

A government forecast shows the oil slick potentially striking the popular tourist beaches of Mississippi and Alabama later this week. The official arrival of hurricane season Tuesday has incited a new rash of dire scenarios.

Hell the Obama administration doesn't even wanna share a speaking podium with BP anymore

The new on-scene coordinator at the command center is Rear Adm. James A. Watson. White House officials said Monday that no one was unhappy with Landry, only with the arrangement in which the government and BP shared a microphone.

well I learned early on in a middle
management career that you CANNOT
be close friends with the employees
you supervise. There will be a conflict
of interest and you will lose your
credibility to lead ALL when you show
favoritism to SOME.

that goes for politics as well

Over 2 weeks into the worst oil spill in history & Obama hasn't started a criminal investigation is just criminal. Yep, make sure BP has time to get rid of evidence & get their story straight. They should have had criminal investigators on the ground the very day it started.

Excuse me, I'm sorry, did you say two weeks?

This oil spill began on April 20th, which is 42 days ago---well over a month. A month and no investigation at all. So much for a crime scene, the rig sank to the ocean floor nice and neat.
