Take a look at this video before coming down on one side or the other. It is helpful to see both sides before making a decision one way or the other. I would love to see something from the other side as well before I decide who was right or wrong. Also, who gave the Isreali navy the right to board their ship in international waters? They have every right to defend themselves IMHO.

Xeno...apparently you know Nothing!!!!To all of you uninformed mouth pieces.. There is a UN resolution about AIDE to gaza.. It needs to go through PRE SET UP check points... to make sure the little terrorists dont get the weapons they are looking for.. which have been found in 25% of the AIDE this year.. *snip*

Hate to break this to you, but the Rainbow Warrior sinking was huge news at the time, and the international outrage was huge, as well. I remember it well.

Sent a letter to the French embassy, too. Never did get a reply...
.

So. Outrage of the actions by the French against Greenpeace was loud and long. Though without the interwebs, not so widespread as it would have been... So I guess we're not all just looking for an excuse to blame Israel...

Sorry.

I didn't say it wasn't big news, yet not as big as this one. 50 news channels worldwide DIDN'T scratch their entire playlist to bring you live reports from the scene, and the greenpeace ship didn't carry 9 reporters from all kinds of news stations all over the world.

I remember that case very well, and you CANNOT say the mess was as big as the one in this case.

More power to Israel. Israel made its demands, they didn't listen. Israel tried to take the boat peacefully and the protesters acted violent. If you act violently, you better be able to back it up. And to those claiming Israel is being bullies? Grow up, this is war, this just means they are doing it right if they are dominating so much that you call them bullies.

I'm not a fan of war or death, but I do not condemn any country that defends itself with an iron fist. Mind you, if Israel didn't defend itself so tenaciously the rest of the middle east would tear it apart.

All beliefs are eventually hijacked and then used against the believer so as to control, and with Israels existence being seen by many as a Biblical issue, this is no different. But it's not just religion where our beliefs are used against us, with patriotism and now environmentalism being other examples. Do you notice how many in this arguement are forever screaming so as not to listen, with refusing to see anything that challenges their belief? And that is just what those pulling the puppet strings of this world want.

excuse me but what part of killing is "blocked". The ships were attacked probably after being warned to not go into the waters..they were attacked, period. can you say excessive force! Put yourself in the place of the Turkish ships. It is late at night, a helicopter(s) hover over your ship, men come down ropes and start attacking your men. You fight back, they may have thought it was pirates.......who knows. Much confusion I am sure. Israel is killing many innocent civilians and yes there are combatants mixed in. That is Hamas' strategy.......civilian shields. Israel frankly, doesn't care. It is wrong for Israel to starve the civilians.......but it is also wrong for Hamas to bomb israeli's.....each has issues. This attack seemed too aggressive...........Now the U.S. pulling back is because Prez obama is a muslim. He did not go to the memorial day activities and sent Joe Biden.........now he is refusing to meet with israel. MR. obama is setting the stage for muslim aggression toward israel...........buckle down because here it comes. when the muslims realize that the U.S. is not backing Israel.......game is ON. WWIII with nukes and all........our the(U.S.) stance is setting a dangerous precedence.

Hard to say it wouldn't have been, or would have been for that matter... The internet wasn't in existence then, or if it was certainly wasn't as wide spread as it is now.

Different era's. Makes for tough comparisons. I'll concede that it might not have reached the same level...then again, as popular as Greenpeace was at the time? Who knows...

Oooooh! Evil Israelies and their evil paint guns!

Further proof of paintball gun claim by me:

Look at how it's held, how light it is, and the obvious case for paintballs in the top of it.

So far I have presented backed up proof for everything I have said in this thread, where others have presented zero proof for each of their claims.

Feels like you're not even trying there fella's, turn it up a notch.

...Where's that guy that said he didn't "spot" any.. but he did spot submachine guns? LOL!

that would be the first helicopter-pirate-attack ever.

Like I already said in an other thread about this topic. The IDF Soldiers had every right to defend themself after being assaulted by these "activists".

Honestly. What kind of activists are these?

They were getting what was coming to them. If their intentions to help the people in gaza were honest, they would have directed their aid for gaza through the official channels.

This was only another attempt to discredit the israelis and to give the simple-minded a reason to rant about.

This action doesn't help anybody, neither israeli nor the people in gaza. It just sparks more hatred in the middle east.

It's ironic when you think of it. Peace activists go on a mission to spark war.

I wonder how idiotic you need to be to actually think these people were on a peaceful mission.

So the 15 people died by natural causes?Old age?Alergies maybe?

Those are probably guns with plastic bullets but this doesn't mean that all soldiers had them instead of real ones and the 15 people who died so far are backing up this "scenario".

Lol, I have never said the IDF soldiers didn't KILL them. BUT what I did say is that they originaly used painball guns to DETER them, but when the "peace activists" turned to violence the IDF soldiers had to take out their emergency pistols that were kept for these kind of emergencies.

Further video evidence that the "peace activists" were the first to attack:

Anyone else wondering - Soldiers going on ships is standard procedure.

The only thing you guys can vouch for your side is this - 15 dead activists, event happened in international waters.

Anything else besides these dry facts, anyone?
How about the reasons for the deaths, the reasons for the take-over, the reasons why they didn't want to dock at Ashdod? Hm?

Or is it just plain old anti-Israel bashing I see here? Yeah, it is.

Getting boring to own you all hypocrites.

You should read and check on the facts first. They had backup Pistols. After the soldiers with the paintball pistols were attacked so violently , they made use of them.

Even so,how do you justify the Israeli army stoping the boat and getting on board by force while it was in international waters?
