Man Denied Medical Marijuana In Jail Seeks Answers

I think we all knew it was a matter of time. I hope he wins.

There are some residents throughout New Mexico who are on the state’s cannabis program such as 34-year old Gregory Fernandez, who is one of them but has recently ran into a problem.

Fernandez said he was arrested Sunday for allegedly driving on a suspended license. Immediately, Fernandez said he was stripped of the marijuana he possessed even though he's a part of the state's cannabis program. The marijuana is prescribed for his epilepsy, he said.

Fernandez said he has seizures often, especially when stressed, and not having his medications while behind bars wasn't easy, he said. Fernandez is now seeking answers.

I have always stated to my friends, If i was employed as a governor of a prison facility I would quite happily dispense class 3 drugs as a prisoner perk/privilege, Working on the theory that my duty of care is for the well being of my inmates.
It makes more sense to have chilled relaxed inmates, Rather than people going stair crazy and frustrated being banged up all the time... IMO

Well, if you have epilepsy, i don't think you can drive. As for the officer taking the pot, any would have probably. As long as the full amount is returned after the whole story is figured, i guess.

Oh yeah man, I agree. I would keep my inmates LOADED on drugs, the fun kind that is. Not anti-depressants and all the other BS. I'd have them on 3 daily doses of a strong opiate, and mass amounts of pot lol.

Free food, housing, and drugs? I would get arrested just to go to your prison.
