The old salt suplements used to be potassium chloride. If they still sell them it may be worth a look at the ingredients.

I'm in Australia and need more than the RDA of potassium.

I used to be able to buy a great mixture supplying it, but since new legislation came in about 6 months back it can no longer be sold.

My doctor is prescribing "Slow K" for me, but this is not working so well.
So, thanks to the government, I'm weak from potassium deficiency and suffering arrhythmias.

And that's despite practically living on veges and vegetable juice.

I believe this is only the start in sickening us.

Vitamin C can still be sold, but the most reliable brand of pure ascorbic acid here now smells funny and has strange side effects.

Great comment; always good to see when people are looking out for each other. PS - Just wanted to mention how much I love your signature:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently and die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." --Robert A. Heinlein

What a fantastic quote..! As a generalist myself, I'm ever grateful that I don't have to adopt a narrow mindest as a result of career or academic specialism. I'm a writer, and love thinking about EVERYTHING...!

I meant to say salt 'substitute' for people on low sodium diets.
