You're right. The most ironic thing is that all major right-hand religions like Christianity and Islam are all the same story but are different because of the cultures that spawned them.

For one religion to target another proves that there is an agenda involved in decimating the other religion, because no one in the right mind would attack such an important structure that is also holding up your own.

It can often be correctly stated that we know as little of the faith of others as we know of our own.

Calling the violent acts of extremist splinter groups of any people 'jihad' is as accurate as calling a gang war or a riotous mob a "crusade."

That's what this political appointee was trying to say.

Purist legal jargon and philosophers may debate the details, but unless all Islam wars on another people it can't be 'jihad.' The extremists are trying to inspire jihad.

You see that happening? I don't think so.

Islam isn't calling it jihad.... the media and the extremist do, but that doesn't make it so. Anymore than calling dissenting citizens, domestic terrorists makes it so.

Yeah I do have a point: What ever happened to diplomacy, who in their right mind thinks that attacking these people will create peace in the world?

As for your other comments, you think Islam started a war with the Christians on 9/11? There's so many lies involved, but the US has been tooling Islamic extremists for decades; first by giving them the means to fight the Soviets and then bombing them right after (various times throughout 90s even). The actions conducted on the West is not a blind religious war, it is retaliation for American aggression that will always hinder global peace efforts.

Umm, well, to suggest that Jihad is not a part of their religion would be kinda false. It's spread all throughout the Koran

It'd be like Muslims accusing the Jews and Christians of hating gays and stoning hookers to death.

The truth hurts....a lot some times, thats why I choose to believe in God the way i feel best. Not the way some 3000+ year old bigoted wealthy man says I should.

People cling to ways of the past for fear that God will smite them for not taking it literally. Those people are dangerous, stupid, vile, and several other words that I just cna't think of right now.

Organized religion is a joke.

"Islam" is designed to be no more PEACEFUL than Christianity or Judaism.

Don't be fooled into thinking otherwise.

Here's my interpretation of the bible: It was written two thousand years ago by people in a different time and culture than our own. The words they used were the words they used to communicate in day to day life and they did not have an understanding of the world around them like we do today (they saw it more spiritually than scientifically, not saying one is more correct than the other though).

It is modern day interpretation of the bible by either corrupted people or by less-understanding people that is the problem. The bible is completely taken out of context and instead of followers understanding that Earth was the exact same back then as it is now, they believe in some kind of twisted fairy tale version of it preached to them. Because of how illogical the modern day interpretation is, followers can't understand well enough to question it and simply follow it blindly.

But the best part is all the biblical prophecies. These are not so much prophecies as they are an accurate understanding of human nature and society.

Jihad is a personal struggle.

1% if Muslims think this means violence to others.

10% follow along.

The rest mind their own business.

Jihad is not terrorism. It is the Christian equivalent of prayer and seeking Jesus.
