Excitement on Temple Mount as Rabbi Prostrates Himself

www.israelnationalnews.com

A large group of hareidi-religious Jews ascended the Temple Mount Tuesday and received friendly service from the police there – unlike the harsh police treatment that Jews typically receive on the Mount in recent years. One of the Jews was even allowed to fully prostrate himself in prayer, facing in the direction of the location of the ancient Temple – which is now occupied by a Muslim mosque.

I don't know if I've ever heard this being allowed by a Jew in recent times. I wonder why he wasn't dragged off to jail and banned from ever going to there again. Is the warf under new management or something? I hope we see more of this.

Jews are usually forbidden from openly praying or even mumbling prayers on the Mount, as part of an Israeli policy of complying with Muslim Wakf's demands in this matter. It is not completely clear whether the friendly police attitude Tuesday was a fluke or a sign of changing attitudes.

Wow that is weird.
Maybe the police there that day were just reaaally laid back.
Strange though for sure.

Actually my understanding is some of the Ultra Orthodox Sects in Judaism have made some significant solidarity gestures towards Palestinian Muslims much to the chagrin of the Zionists.

It is entirely possible that these people were from such a sect and were viewed as friends, as opposed to belligerents.

Though I don’t understand much about religion I am told, that Jews may pray in a Mosque if a Temple is unavailable to them, but not a Christian Church.

I would wager if the Zionists ever stop simply trying to displace all the Palestinians, make a lasting peace and offer some serious financial restitution and compensation for all the lands and properties they have confiscated that the Muslims would probably open up the Temple Mount to a larger extent.

Let’s face it Palestine sure hasn’t been growing in size now has it?

Maybe it's a sign of things to come? I'll be keeping an eye on this one to see if it continues.

Just an observation...

There is a view that the Dome of the Rock is located on the other end of the mount from where the Temple was located.

This view says that the Holy of Holies was located on an east-west line sighted from the eastern gate...
...which would place it on the other end of the temple mount on the location of the Dome of the Tablets.

So the Dome of the Rock is then harmlessly located in the outer court or the court of the congregation.

So which way was the Rabbi actually facing?
And was he actually a Rabbi or an impostor to have been afforded this treatment?

Actually, Jews who had been living in Israel for centuries were expelled from their lands by Jordan. East Jerusalem was not only occupied but was also illegally annexed to Jordan along with Samaria, which was then renamed the 'West Bank'.

As far as numbers goes;
Since Jerusalem's reunification in 1967, its Arab population has grown from 68,600 to 244,800

Anyway, I hold hope this is more than just a fluke

Actually to me it's all just the province of Judea!

The population increase over 42 years is about on par with typical population increases across the board in other provinces like Gaul and Britania.

The good news is that some of the Ultra Orthodox Hebrews are really making an effort to create and maintain friendships with the local Muslims and we may be seeing the benefit of that.

I like to think when people start taking the politics out of religion, that those who are truly spiritual in that organized fashion, can and could in fact get along.

In fact the Hebrews who did not go into Disaspora did get along quite well for well over a thousand years with the Muslims in the region.

When politics isn't a factor, then I think everyone tends to get along well.

Dare I hope that peace has infected the region?

At least there is one gesture, if no other, that we can say suggests that people can live together, despite what their religious leaders say.

If I was an officer up there, I wouldn't care if people were mumbling prayers or laying on the ground to face holy rocks and stones.

Sometimes it seems that is all religion is about.
Praying to or fighting over sacred objects, idols and holy lands.

I think people are missing the point, but hey knock yourself out.

just out of curiosity what is the significance of such prostrated worship? what is the objective of the prayer? and what if they could maintain a lasting peace?

For their own sake, seal it all off until all these people are wise enough to be gracious judges. They will be surprised what the seeds they have sown will bring during harvest, but a Godly man won't be. They dance on graves without ever moving, they murder generations without action. If you pray for anything, pray for understanding. If you do anything, express understanding.

Well said my friend. If the three Abrahamic faiths realize that they all have their origin in the same place, then they will realize that God does not want us killing each other over Him. Really people, it's just a piece of real estate. God is not confined to it, He is everywhere.
