Indeed, however, while I do find a lot of the stuff a tad scary, there are some things which, frankly, I find outrageous:
A colony of aliens, living under earth for perhaps millions of years, then acccidentally disturbed while blasting tunnels? Er...!
Aliens that give AIDS? At this point, things start to get a little silly...in a strange way, almost blasphemous. AIDS is a very serious subject, and
to try to convince right thinking people that it is concieved through alien excretia is, frankly...oh, I dunno, it's just wrong, imho.
Having said the above, I feel somewhat hypocritical, when I haven't even questioned similarily outrageous ideas - like magneto-leviton trains, for
example. Schneider says that military hardware advances at 40 years the civilian level. Now, it doesn't take a genius to work out that the gap
between military and civil is closing rapidly; hardly 40 years worth of a gap between them!
Also, if America had military hardware 40 years in the future, given the current political climate, I'm sure as hell itself they'd be out there
parading it about. I think few could argue with that, I know I'd be preening every feather I damn well have, if I were trying to convince the world,
at this moment in time.
Oh well, just a thought!
Write back, lemme know what you think.
