Was Star Trek a government dis-infomation campaign?

I think you are mistaken. I have been a big fan of Star Trek since the 60's and have read tons on it. I don't recall GR ever working with NASA on any aspect of Star Trek.

I do know that the government called him in to ask where he got information to construct the "medical beds" they used on the show. Apparently the government were working on some things that were just "dreamed up" by the writers so it caused a bit of unease on the part of the government.

TV in the 60's was nothing like it is today, the most NASA ever had to do with the original GR Star Trek was to loan them footage for the "Assignment Earth" or "Yesterday's Child" episode.

There were no flying saucers or robots in ST: TOS.

What would you call Nomad [The Changling] or Vger [ST:1] or Norman and his hot babes [I, Mudd] all of those are TOS.

Star Trek was pitched to NBC as "Wagon Train to the Stars". It's purpose was to make money. It made plenty.

lol i loved the old startrak robots yes there were some the one that tryed to blow the ship to smithereens .
ufos yes not every ship had visible engines . heck there were ship were Spock would say caption I cant not explane what power type this ship uses.

The reason why a lot of the ships in Trek have 'warp nacelles' is because the guy who designed the ship was told 'DO NOT make it look like a classic UFO OR Rocketship). So.... The designer sat down and made what we see streaking across our tvs and movie screens.

NASA couldn't design a spaceship if their very lives depended on it. Everything they make looks like it'd be turned to scrap the instant it hit anything bigger than a sneeze... Hulls the thickness of beer cans, complicated, spindly, constructions of gantries, hoses- the ISS looks like Voltron threw up.

hmmmmmm, Star trek, i believe is nothing to do with disinformation, but a clever way to manipulate the population and trends and technology, for example, when i was a kid, i would watch star trek next generation, and wished we had tricorders, and touch screen computers, since then, we now have touch screen phones, touch screen computers etc.
