Are you aware that you posted a video depicting British infantry? Even so, that wasn't their fault and you just made yourself look like a tool.

Aside from the 30,000 troops in SK, what other hardware does the US have in that region? Had a quick search but can't find anything. Any carriers over there?

if you were a vet or military you would know. the whole reason for learning how to march and do manuevers while marching is.....
d i s c i p l i n e.

discipline is key in battle. the way they march also shows that they are physically fit. again, key in battle readiness.

I agree, discipline is necessary also when it comes to 'fight or flight' as you know.

When you are ordered to push forward when everything inside you wants to just run away, it is this discipline, together with the ingrained bond you have with your fellow servicemen that allows you to go against your natural instinct.

That was during a time when China was considered by many to be an inferior country militarily. This time around, they may have the home field advantage against us. Sheer numbers alone over-powered us last time. If it happens again, this time, they hold the good hand.

We owe China so much money, their military seriously dwarfs ours, and now they're damn near just as technologically advanced. Yeah, this will spiral out of control VERY quickly. This worries me.

That being said, South Korea has the right to defend itself. And they're allies to us. I really don't like where this is headed.

I agree dude. ww3 could be just around the corner. China would rape US imo if they choose to.

You're probably wrong on the china raping America.

1) China is all litoral warfare, they have absolutely NO military projection capability.

2) Like most countries, lots of technologically advanced equipment (still limited technology compared to ours) does little without the funds to properly train using it. I.E. we would dominate them in air superiority.

3) There is the potential to load up a bunch of people into container ships and drop them at our shores if they so chose, and our air superiority would be little good if they were in the middle of our own cities; however, there is a good reason that NO ONE has invaded the US in modern history.

We are inundated with guns. People would be coming out of the woodwork if we were invaded and their superior numbers (around 100 million) would quickly not be so superior.

4) In a nuclear war, no one would win, and frankly I don't see anything besides tactical nukes being used unless a nation is in absolute dyer straits. The only exceptions to this would be Iran and some other middle eastern countries and N. Korea, but N.K. will be in dyer straits prior to using them and then they would use them on S.K. or possibly Japan not on the U.S.

That video was still pretty darn funny!
Your right, its British, not US Troops. But it could have happened to anybody.

North Korea is asking for it. They have been asking for it since the middle 90's when they landed that spy sub. Many people do not realize how close we were to WAR then. So close, that the Armed Forces were put on a 48-72 hour (if memory serves, could have been longer) stand down and ordered to get wills in order. There was even a letter circulated and posted in the CP's that described what the effect of a NK Aggressive posture would be. Pretty much an annihilation of NK, by NATO forces.

Look to Iran. What are they doing, while we are looking at NK?

Hi,
I would like to first off make it very clear that the USA would not fund a war with NK from its own pockets, it would be paid for by SK and to an advantage of the USA. I don't really think uncle SAM wants old Kim off his throne yet anyways, better the enemy you know then the one you don't. As for CHN being a strong fight if they came into such a war, PLEASE... CHN has nothing on the USA, the two war fronts the USA has going down now are money makers and the soldiers are used as a Police force rather then a machine of death (the true job of a solider). USA had more advanced weapon systems back in the 80s then CHN has now, it makes me wild to hear such things as USA is going down, can't take on this or that. As for a nuke war ending the world..... Yes there would be a lot of devastation and death, but most nukes from rogue states would be down just off the launch pad, the USA nukes would for 99.9% make there targets and that would be that. The earth is one strong lady and would recover in due time along with our population. Just look at the amount of nukes tested and set off over the last 60 years, I can tell you that there has been a hell of a lot tested and much more then WW3 would need to find a victor. What will happen will happen and none of us can do crap about it. Lets not forget that if the world was like the west and with out controlling fanatics it would be a stable modern place full of extreme wonder and great good. Yes we would still have the ruling elite and what not, but its the way its been and always will be. PEACE>

You dont think the US would fund SK, you are surely mistaken. NK(rather thier leader) has been nothing but a problem for a long time now. The US has a pretty good history of funding other groups to do it's dirty work, and this will be no exception. We don't have 30,000 troops in SK for no reason. I am willing to get all of our troops currently in SK are getting very nervous right now and I dont blame them.

p.s. Get right with God while you still can, and smoke em if you got em!

This isnt a response to you specificly. Just in general.

One factor remains elusive to your arguments that it's the west/US just picking fights. North Korea and regimes like this one exist! They are everything any lover of the very simplest of human rights should stand against. I'm not talking about freedom and liberty because those are concepts that seem to be looked at with glossed over eyes. We are so used to our freedoms that being without them doesn't even seem plausible. But in Countries like the DPRK Freedom Liberty and an open and honest society are unimaginable.

Knowing how they treat their own Human beings that are their own citizens should have you screaming in the streets to go to war. You would if you had the guts be pounding that drum yourself. If you come on these sites and bad mouth the west or the USA then shame on you. Do some research on life in the DPRK. Learn about the horrible conditions. The famine, The political prison/labor camps. Why is it that you can bash the USA and not give one thought to the people of North Korea? I'm at a loss. I'm really not getting what your hearts are saying to you. Blame Bush....Blame Ragan, Blame Obama, Blame Clinton, This mentality is like blaming a women for her rape because her shorts were to tight. Evil exists but it is not the USA or the west. But a little bit does rest in the souls of those who advocate doing nothing to help the oppresed people of this earth.

I lived in Seoul and it pained me that although I was walking amongst one of the most prosperous nations citizens of the western Pacific. That just 40 miles to my north there were people starving to death by the millions.

The sinking ot the South korean Corvette is enough to go to war with North Korea. But in my mind bringing the modern era to the citizens of North Korea is reason enough. To stop one more generation of children from dying due to lack of food is enough for me. And how many generations do we let suffer? If you dont have the guts to beat the drum then I'll do it.

We are America and we are exceptional! They hate us because we are exceptional. What they are doing is an abomination and what your doing by trying to erode our exceptionalism should be criminal. If we were the evil a lot of you haters say we are then why do millions of non Americans want to live within our borders? Why? Because we are a force for good! Americans, Learn to love your nation again! stop this hate!

Man, how many more people need to die in the name a pacification?

www.youtube.com...

I love America and it feels good.

Did Andrew Lloyd Webber write that one? And why does Elvis keep giving the wimpy, Hitler version of the Nazi salute?

Sorry but China doesn't need to attack USA because it owns it.
With your economy being the way it is it only needs a push and then China can come and collect.
There are other ways to destroy a country:cut food supply, cut oil supply etc.
Old fashion wars are messy and normal people don't like them.

A third nuclear test and naval confrontations in the Yellow Sea are likely, say analysts, in response to South Korean President Lee Myung-bak's announcement Monday of retaliatory measures against North Korea for torpedoing the navy ship Cheonan.
