Are you suggesting that the US war machine is in the Middle East and around the world, only because we may be heading for WW3?
First I'd like to address why we are around the world, and it has nothing to do with our readiness for a future WW3, though that could be a benefit.
America has an empire, though while the empires of yesteryear (I know, I'm a dork for using that word) have been through military campaigns, our
current empire is built through economic campaigns and policies. In other words, we are in the Middle East for economic reasons. Sure, some of our
military bases over-seas are for strategic purposes, but with the end result of making money and keeping our economic empire.
We use the World Bank, among other institutions, to bankrupt other countries through loans for development projects that they can never pay back. It
makes the leaders of these countries money and it makes the Western corporations money, while keeping the people of these countries impoverished. We
keep most of the Third World under our thumb that way. When these foreign nations are under our control because of debt, we can rape their resources
or use their locations for strategic value, such as air bases so that we may then rape other countries of their resources.
The countries that don't play ball with us that way, we try to start a coup or revolution through covert and clandestine methods. If that then fails,
we send our military in. So, the military then becomes a last resort for an ever expanding economic empire.
Many people don't realize it but the reason that France and Germany opposed the US invasion of Iraq, is because they were the recipients of Iraq's
"Oil for Food" program. The US wanted that oil and cheap, so we made an excuse to go in there and take it. Because Germany and France were getting
the oil already, they opposed. Both countries knew that once America took control of Iraq, the US would then get the oil for a rock-bottom price or
practically free, at the American tax-payers expense.
Just my 2 cents. I hope this helps!
