Rand Paul: Obama BP criticism 'un-American'

WASHINGTON - Taking another unconventional stand, Kentucky's Republican Senate nominee Rand Paul criticized President Barack Obama's handling of the Gulf oil spill Friday as anti-business and sounding "really un-American."

Paul's defense of oil company BP PLC came during an interview as he tried to explain his controversial take on civil rights law, an issue that seemed to suddenly swamp his campaign after his victory in Tuesday's GOP primary.

What I don't like from the president's administration is this sort of, 'I'll put my boot heel on the throat of BP,'" Paul said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America." "I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business."

Seems like Mr Ron Paul's son is not the nice and happy guy we thought he was eh?

Seems like Big Business has already got their hands on him and he's singing their tune. Not that I am surprised.

It's funny, the interior secretary, when asked about the comments stated:

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told CNN on May 2: "Our job basically is to keep the boot on the neck of British Petroleum."

Seems like somebody understands what the process is..

I think this guy is a jackass. Doh! We are killing a huge section of the sea. A coastal region of ecological importance is dying. Small businessmen (fishermen) may be going out of business but he is criticising mild POTUS.

I am not impressed at all!

So, criticism of a foreign owned corporation that is currently screwing up so bad that they are actually, actively and demonstrably physically destroying parts of America right at this moment is now un-American? How does one figure that?

Rand Paul screwed up with this comment. In no way shape or form is criticizing big foreign business that pollutes the ocean anti-American. What brought him to say such an illogical and non-sequitur remark? Political suicide, no matter what partisanship you follow. Did he consult with his father before opening his mouth? Or is he just trying to say anything anti-Obama no matter how salad-mixed and irrelevant it ends up sounding? I'm not against him or anything but it just doesn't follow.

It's like a Khazar or European Jew calling me an anti-Semite when they kill the Palestinians who are the real Semites. They accuse of something they are doing, the intention is to bait you into calling them a hypocrite, of which they are, and when you do that, they can say that you are resorting to ad hominem attacks. Bait and Switch. They are never upfront and hate to be told the truth. That's why they kill, steal, and lie.

I think you are making the story go backwards, Rand Paul was resonding to the "boot on the neck" statement, which I agree sounds completely irresponsible and not the way we do things, if they have a problem they settle it in the courts, what else would they do call each other names? Just another immature remark by a clearly immature administration, not up to the task of being an executive branch, you'd think by now Obama would be looking straight at the Federal Reserve rather than running around blaming the banks when the Federal Reserve made it all happen, they were the temptation factor byt he policies they implemented, but since Obama has to do Goldman Sachs favors for his election, it should be no wonder why nothing has recovered nor will as long as these issues such as Monetary policy go on ignored...BP maybe just a rinky dink player in the grand scheme of things, they sell oil and sometimes they have accidents or maybe they are attacked by terrorists to give the government something else to take over, these games are getting played out. They are so invested in the collapse of the economy that asking Obama to stop it would be like asking him to increase unemployment. They just threatened the sudit the fed act with a 1,000 drop, what more evidence do we need, we are seeing criminals riggin the markets with the government helping them rig it. Obama maybe MORE invested in it than BUSH!
