There are many things that appear on ATS from Hyder flares to total economic collapse.
The reason for this thread is I would like to know if a confirmed event came into play, something like a small meteor impact(1/2 mile in diameter)or total civil unrest or a unknown virus where to happen what members on ATS advice for survival would you take as credible i have a few on mind.but just wanted to see what the rest of you say.

PLEASE dont turn this into a members rival or argument just state your member and why

rely on no one and that includes Phage (no disrespect). Do your own research and trust your own instincts, you are privileged enough to have access to the Internet - use it. You have to cross reference and think for yourself. No one has all of the answers, although some can guide you and hep you on your way. Trust your instincts and use your brain.

JacKatMtn would be the one I would probably trust simply because he/she (don't ya love the pc-ness :p ) lives in my area so its a lot easier to verify without all the leg work anything thats a local event. As for anything beyond local disasters I'm not trusting anything that I can't see and hear with my own senses, too much nonsense floating around...

I wouldn't trust anyone's info 100% as everyone is in a different place and situation. Almost everyone has a different ideal of what survival is like survival means getting by and living like the road warrior because everyone is trying to kill you or survival is setting up a small community that works together to keep themselves alive. There are numerous different ideas of what "survival" is and im not saying one is right and one is wrong but everyone should take all the info with a grain of salt. It somes down to the methods people use and the "what is better" argument. Is it beter to have a canteen or be able to carve a drinking cup from wood, is it better to have a tent or know how to make a log cabbin on and on.
I think your own intuition is the best thing you could possibly have.

The only person I trust is me, myself and I. I cannot and will not afford to trust anyone else. I go by what I see and hear with my own eyes and ears.
