I believe that a combination or singularity of the following is the conclution to "the moon turning red"
1. The atmospheric changes
2. innacurate news/picture sources
3. Some hoax
4. sun radiation reflections/content changing
or
5. I am wrong

The polutants and industrial gases in the atmosphere are a product of this age of technology and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. The moon appears more and more red/orange as the atmosphere becomes more poluted. It is most prominant on the horizons because of the thick atmosphere effect. The biblical references to a red moon could in fact be describing an era that causes the moon to appear as red/orange. These last few 100 years have in fact produced enough contamination to the atmophere to make the moon look red.

When I was in Pennsylvania once, about three years back, between Trenton, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA, it was around early July, I was coming back with my father from Summer Camp, it was around 1 AM, and the Moon was high in the sky, yet it was Blood Red. The closest I can describe to it, is like a Dark Red Wine Color. Obviously it was due to all of the pollution present, and how "close" the air was. The Moon Can be all the way up in the sky, and still look red.

I just went to the 7-11 to get something better than water to drink. When i got outside I saw the most amazing moon that I have ever seen in my life. It was RED, BLOOD RED. The first thing that came to my mind, was that this is a REALLY BAD OMAN. A tingle ran down my spine and all of my "spidysenses" went crazy.

Not knowing about the superstitions of the Red Moon, the first thing I did/am doing when i got home was use the SEARCH feature here at ATS. I live in Central New Jersey and I have never seen anything like this before.

Is this something that the Terrorists would stage an attack around? A sign from Allah? I have a bad feeling about this...i hope I am wrong.

No cheese. All cows have been permanently grounded since the BSE scare.

I've been noticing weird stuff with the moon also. It's been very dark, or some weird reddish color.

In Saratoga when you get off exit 12 here...the moon is always HUGE
