Us vs. Them. The Possible Near Future?

Hello fellow ATSers. I am comfortable to make the speculation that many Americans feel that politicians and corporations have put our country on a plate, ate it for lunch, and as time went on it digested to crap. Well America or the "crap" is being flushed down the toilet and making it's way into the sewers below. I'm not criticizing the people, I love my fellow Americans, and believe that there are a lot of honest, hard working people with good intentions in this country.

But I digress, for the raison d'être of this thread is to ask you your speculations on the question that if America keeps getting worse at this pace, will there be grounds for a revoultion? If yes, do you think it could be possible to overthrow such a strong militant force. Do you think we would have the resources to create the biggest revoultion(or would it be counter-revoultion) the world had ever known? Do you think the the rebellion would work autonomously or do you think we would have aid from foreign powers? I.e. foregion governments, other rebellions, radical liberation groups,or even dare I say it....terrorist. I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

We we don't help each other now, so why would we die for each other? We hear about our fellow Americans being deprived of rights and accussed of false allegations, but we don't enmass go to their aid and help them as individuals. We stand by committees or groups, but not single people. So I do not think most would do anything at all. In fact i think we complain a lot, but when the chips finally fall, we will run with tail between our legs and go along.

We fear so many aspects of government like the DSS, that runs roughshod over families and is never challenged. So i don't think that there are enough Americans with real courage to even put together a small army.

If the government keeps putting its foot on our throats, the "Revolution" will be over quickly. The vast majority of gun owners will not take their crap much longer nor will at least 50% of the military. The Government does not have the support of enough armed people to force their will on us, they are only getting away with things right now because the good people of this country are counting on beginning to change things back in November. If the elections seem to have been manipulated, things will get ugly for many in Washington very quickly.

I think Glenn Beck is uncovering something beyond comprehension. We may not be seeing a Red Revolution as so many have thought, this may be a "takeover" by a small group of greedy "greenies", somewhat along the lines of Tom Clancys Rainbow Six, sans the world wide bio attack. I know many of you will dismiss this the second Glenn Beck is mentioned, but if you have the least bit of open mindedness you will at least look into and follow what he is uncovering, it is becoming almost beyond mosts wildest imaginations.. This is looking to be the biggest "conspiracy" the world has ever seen. Look up Maurice Strong.

I do see why the term "revolution" ultimately invokes violent means. Personally, I think the best way to revolt would be to hit the American government where it really hurts: Their pocketbooks.

The government is like a hydra, cut one head off, and another will appear. The politicians are expendable, but their greed, their money, is the way to hurt them.

But if you mean violence, then we would lose. Hands down. We were supposed to be protected, by the right to bear arms. But the people that penned that ammendment, had no concept of the capitilist empire that lied ahead in time.

You would also have to assume that you could rally people. You cant even get people to get off the couch...away from the tv or computer, long enough to improve their own lives. You cant tell me that you can rally people to fight, when they wont even exercise to improve their condition of living. A good portion of this country is obese, a larger portion is overweight. Try motivating someone that cant motivate theirselves.

Revolt? Ha.

There will be no revolt as long as the people are distracted. Most people can tell you what happened last week on Bravo's Top Chef or Real Housewives....but they cant tell you anything about mandated healthcare, or the patriot act, or racial profiling etc..etc......you know, they rights that disappear EVERYDAY.

The death of the electric car. People believe that electric cars cannot exist and gasoline is the only way, yet my 80GB mp3 player is as big as my wallet. People dont CARE.

No, we worry about our hair, and ipads, our nails, our clothes, our car, our status, our damn FACEBOOK account. Our sports teams, our beer, our distractions distractions distractions.

We cant get people to care about the planet that we live on. We cant get them to care about themselves. we cant get them to care for each other. We cant get them to care for other animals.

Get them to care about revolution? Good luck

You have a very strong point, it's sad to see what has come to fruition in reguards our benevolence towards our fellow human. The most minute of aspects divide us. All the odds were against us once greed and coruption peaked it's abomination of a head(with a big set of horns attached to the top). The govenment tries to undermine personal liberties by emphasizing the comforts of security through the means of MSM, the war on drugs, terrorism etc... Our 1st admanment rights are strictened to avoid conflinct or civil unrest(which is pretty ironic if you think about it). But our country and people progresed through adversities and thrived in the the times that followed.

p.s.- political correctness is a joke. All it does is take away from the induvidual.

p.p.s- Stereotyping and racism are NOT synonomous, just because you stereotype someone doesn't mean you hold a predjudice against them.

p.p.p.s- Listen to what a third party candidate has to say in 2012. Just because the MSM fails to report it to you, doesn't mean it's not out there.

Maybe the people need a symbol for this generation, a hero to stand up.

I dare to wonder how much worse America can get...but, I do believe in this nation and more importantly the people who make up this foundation. I believe that we have moved far beyond violence and any revolution the American People make (and I am one of them) will be made out of peace.

It appears that TPTB have been trying to start a civil war for years now, but, to their demise. And that is what skares them. We are a nation of heart and soul. The solid rock cannot be moved even if we reach rock bottom, because we are a nation of dreamers and doers and though morality is sinking to an all time low, the majority still rules. Those who do use violence are few and far between. Selah!

It's hard to get rid of something when it's being jammed down your throat

I just read a report about a weapon used in Iraq that if true would be devastating for us here. Not to mention it would explain why they would not fear our guns as they would be useless to us.
