I saw this article just now & thought I'd post it. To those of you who aren't aware, Viagra was originally perscribed to people with heart problems, not hard-on problems.

Ingrid is a Pitbull who was found severly abused. She had been used as bait dog, but when she was rescued, it was discovered that she had heartworms.

Quoted from article:
'The pup, whose cheery disposition defies her hard luck, was used as a "bait" dog to incite dog fights, according to her profile on Little Shelter's website. In addition, Ingrid was diagnosed with heartworm and a severe heart condition that needed immediate regulation to keep her alive.

A veterinarian would suggest Viagra as a solution to keep the small pooch up and running, saving her life. And it appears to be working.

"Viagra opens up the blocked vessels that go to the heart so it allows the blood to flow through the body," said Record.

Who keeps the supply of Viagra pouring in? A list of generous guys in the area.'

She is up for adoption & the lucky new parent(s) will get a lifetime supply of Viagra in order to keep her alive.

Here is a link to the article, which contains a video featuring Ingrid.

Thanks! I thought it deserved a post ~ especially if anyone from ATS lives in NY & wants to adopt a sweet dog. When I was a kid, our miniature schnauzer came down with congestive heart failure. The vet gave us some kind of pills to give her. Now, I'm wondering if it was in fact Viagra that was keeping her alive?
