Facebook loses friends over privacy

The number of Facebook users considering deleting their accounts has spiked after a week of controversy around the social network's approach to privacy.

According to figures from Google, the world's largest search engine, global queries for "delete Facebook account" have more than doubled in the past week, reaching an all-time high. Most of those searches came from the US.

Although some security-intense Facebook users are deleting their accounts, I will retain mine because it is the only way I can keep in touch with my friends, past and present.

Anyway, it's their own choice if they want to miss seeing their online friends again.

The exodus of Facebook users following the revelations of the state of security issues in this social networking site would make Uncle Mark sad.
