Research Team at UM Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Develops Novel Strategy to Destroy Tumors Using the Immune System

www.earthtimes.org

Harnessing the immune system is emerging as one of the most promising new ways to fight cancer. Most cancer cells are eliminated by the immune system; however, over a lifetime, a few may escape this immune surveillance and lead to tumors and metastases. Hence a formidable opportunity has been to find ways to make the immune system recognize the tumor as a foreign body and trigger a response. A team of researchers at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine method to induce the expression of antigens (the proteins recognized by the immune system) on the surface of tumor cells, thereby

In essence they are attaching a "Does Not Belong! Please Remove!" sign to the cancer cells which causes your own immune system to take notice and remove them. I wonder if each treatment will have to be tailored to that specific strain of cancer. If a simple, safe and effective method for removing cancer is developed and available to the public what does that indicate with regards to all of the widespread cancer cure suppresion conspiracies? How many questions/ reflections will I have to include before I am allowed to post this?

If this is true and it really does help the cure for cancer, you can bet that one of these researchers is going to have unfortunate "accident" in the next several months before this can even really get out for clinical trials.

...especially if it can be done at a relatively low cost.

I can't add to this information but I would like to mark the page so I can return to it and go over it more thoroughly tomorrow. Sleepy now. Immunology is fascinating and so bizarre that the body can attack itself. I can't help but think we are missing something crucial and simple, something that has been right in front of us all the time.
