The American relationship with our nation's flag

Now, the reason I am posting this, is because there seems to be a lot of confusion, or just plain out ignorance when it comes to the knowing of what our flag stands for.

I keep hearing people say.. "Its just a flag"

Really?

I dont think there is much more of an opinion I can add other than
"support it, or leave it".

There really is nothing left to discuss. This is OUR nation, the CITIZENS' of AMERICA. We went through ALOT just to be able to put that flag up on our homes so everyone can see it. We EARNED that right.

Let me ask you all naysayers something, would you be able to get away with taking an American flag to another country, and screaming about how YOU are entitled to anything and everything that country has to offer because it is a "moral obligation' by their people to give you EVERYTHING you deem fit?

WHY on GODS GREEN EARTH, would someone think for ONE SECOND that they are entitled to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that nation gives to its own people to whom which have worked hard to get where they are at today?

Oh I know why, cause 140 years ago, their great great great grandfathers were living there, right? So their OFFSPRING 3 generations later, are entitled to something that they LOST FAIRLY?

Thats like saying "well, my grandapa lost a watch in a poker game, but I think that I should get it back because it used to belong to him, and I am entitled to that".

GUESS WHAT..
IT DOESNT WORK THAT WAY.
It is THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICAS LAND. NOBODY ELSES. NOBODY IS ENTITLED TO THIS LAND BESIDES AMERICANS. BECAUSE WE WON IT!

The Day America loses everything it has, well then MAYBE, you might have a crack at getting some of that land back, but until then, keep your mouth shut about things you have no clue of what you are talking about.

And dont be one of those "Fly-By"posters who dont even watch the video before opening up your trap.
I will not respond to those of you who only come on here to insult and bait the people of this nation and all the hard work that WE AS A PEOPLE have achieved over the years to get where we are at today.

Yes the county will stand. I do not believe that there should be a formal criminal charge for flag defacers. We the people can censure flag defacers.

The flag is however more than a piece of cloth as it is a national symbol of unity that "we the people" hold dear. It is part of the American psyche!

Yes, people salute their country's flag.

Many people have died for it.

We should preserve the flags of our nations.

It is kinda funny to me how nobody is interested in the truth, all
they care about is someone elses or their own agenda.

Just stopping by to chime in and give my 2 cents, particularly to all the "It's just a flag" folks.

I'm a Swede, and I love my country, and my flag. If somebody defaces it, I'm going to be pissed too. It's not just Americans that feel that way. Fine, deface a flag if you feel like it, but you better be prepared for the fact people are going to get pissed off at you. As they say - suit yourself.

That being said, even with its troubled politics lately, I still think of democracy when I see the US flag. So I think y'all can guess what I think of people who deface it, and my guess of how they feel about democracy.
