hung Parliament.

As i'm sure all British and most of the world already knows that we are currently in a hung parliament. what this means is that no party got enough votes to become the next parliament and two will have to work together in order to form a new parliament.

how this came about is rather complicated. i'm not one hundred percent sure how this corrupted voting system works.

votes convert to chairs. however different areas are worth more than others. and both labor and conservative over the years have changed the "boundaries" of each chair to benefit their party.

that is what i know of this current system. lib-dem want this system scrapped for a system of "majority vote".

now from what i know for the last 60yrs we have had labor and conservative as our parliament and it hasn't worked. and our one and real chance of a change to a parliament that wants to change were the power lies has failed because of this corrupt system. from what i can tell we as citizens can't change this we can only hope that the next parliament has lib-dem at least change the voting system so that in four years we have a chance of a change that will work.

labor= priority for the company's.
conservative= priority to the ultra rich.
lib-dem= priority for the citizen.

those were the three big party's in this election and what there policies more or less say. i as a citizen am currently unemployed looking for work soon to go back to collage and i have just been thrown out out of my house and have had to move in with my dad who's girlfriend is throwing me out and i am going to have to move to my mums house. i as a citizen have been let down again and again by my government and now it seems that right on the cusp of change the old systems men't to keep these old governments in power have dashed any hope of a change to the citizen like me. my question for this thread and for those who read it is this.

do you have faith in your government? and do you believe that even if we got our desperately needed change of government do you think it would make a big enough change that citizens like myself would feel any benefit. also i want to hear your opinion on the votes and the voting system and your opinion on the british government.

You used the word "hung" as a technical term. I thought you meant it literally.

gordon brown should have quit a year ago and already have a new pm to run for this years pm not that 1 eyed fool who just cocked up and offended little old ladies

hung parliament is the term given to the current crises in england. however Gordon brown didn't do so badly given the circumstances. if he had resigned earlier conservative would have got in without a doubt instead of the newly form coalition between the lib dem and conservative. also all politicians are two faced dicks.

Majority vote is not the answer. Agnostic boundaries for the chairs is. It sounds like your chairs are the victims of gerrymandering. Politicians will redraw the boundaries to make their re-election nearly guaranteed. Eventually the localities represented by the chair are homogenous and predictable and thus, easily bought and sold.

Seats in our senate and house are gerrymandered to the hilt. But from the looks of the primaries going in right now, even this tactic is failing and long-time incumbents are losing their seats.

Gerrymandering should be a high crime when engaged in by federal servants.

i agree with you that the chair gerymandering is the problem with the electral system in both our countrys and that it should be made illegal. however i believe that a majority vote is the only way to get around this problem. something which the lib dem party is bringing in.
