Iv seen UFOS 7 different times since 1966! and im convinced that what this article Say's is a very real possibility! anybody out there agree?

In the movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, written and directed by Steven Spielberg and released in 1977, an alien spaceship lands, by prearrangement with the U.S. government, on a high mesa called The Devil’s Tower in a remote corner of Wyoming and an ambassadorial exchange takes place. A single alien disembarks and is escorted away, presumably to a secret site. Then, twelve American astronauts in orange jumpsuits and industrial strength sunglasses, with duffel bags slung over their shoulders, ten men and two women, march into the spacecraft to be whisked away to the alien home planet. In the previous scene, they are blessed by a clergyman, who refers to them as “pilgrims.” Was this just some inventive touch conceived by Spielberg, or did he base it on something real? Since it is now widely believed in UFO circles that a pre-arranged alien landing did take place at or near Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico in April of 1964, it seems not unreasonable, to true believers, to suspect that Spielberg may have had an inside track on classified information, and that the ambassadorial exchange with an alien race may also have been a real event.

This has been a long debated myth about this movie. There is no facts to back up these claims, and Mr. Spielberg has a well known reputation for having a very creative mind. I think you and others watch this movie and day dream of how wonderful this would have been to of happen, bad news.."IT DIDN'T HAPPEN."

No doubt your right on the all the above but theres more to it than meets the eye?

Serpo is atleast 50% disinfo, the rest you can work with a bit of long hard study

The author of the article gets the scene in Close Encounters quite wrong. No alien stays with the humans, they don't leave an ambassador behind. Also, we line up the "ambassador" candidates/astronauts (who had red jumpsuits, btw), but none of them are picked. Instead, the aliens pick Richard Dreyfus' character, whom they apparently had "selected" earlier when they implanted the vision of Devil's Tower into his head. He's the only one who gets to go on the trip on the alien craft, the other candidates remain behind.

Anyway, I know that's a minor point, but it suggests a rather sloppy article that may not be well researched, or not researched at all.

Close Encounters is a wonderful movie with a lot of great ideas. I think it inspires a lot of people because so much of it seems like it COULD be true, or how something like that might go down. I just watched it again recently and it's amazing how well it holds up as a film, even today. As another poster said, I think people see this movie and really, REALLY want it to be true, but that doesn't mean it is.

I just like the Yellow Book vibe, sounds a great idea true or not

There is a ton of controversy over Serpo.
The general consensus is that this was more than likely a disinformation tactic by the American govt. I personally believe that many elements are factual, unfortunately nothing can be proven until better evidence is brought forward. There was promise of images which never appeared ultimately sealing the fate of this story. Do some research on Bill Ryan, you'll easily find the details.
