Hi everyone,

I came across this very interesting news story tonight that I feel is very important. As i'm sure all of you know, Israel (supposedly...mmm) has it's own secret stockpile of Nuclear Weapons which it has conveniently never owned upto having.

Countries like Iran and North Korea are under the Hammer constantly for developing Nuclear Energy/Weapons, but nothing is ever said about the Israelies.

Maybe this could be about to change after some pressure from Islamist Countries -

Israel's secretive nuclear activities may undergo unprecedented scrutiny next month, with a key meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency tentatively set to focus on the topic for the first time, according to documents shared Friday with The Associated Press.

A copy of the restricted provisional agenda of the IAEA's June 7 board meeting lists Israeli nuclear capabilities as the eighth item - the first time that that the agency's decision-making body is being asked to deal with the issue in its 52 years of existence.

Item 8, let's hope they don't all forget about the topic by the time this is brought up at the meeting...

Here's an important paragraph that may be the shape of things to come though -

The agenda can still undergo changes in the month before the start of the meeting and a senior diplomat from a board member nation said the item, included on Arab request, could be struck if the U.S. and other Israeli allies mount strong opposition. He asked for anonymity for discussing a confidential matter.

What a joke. So some bully tactics behind the scenes and this could all be wiped off the agenda???!!!

Even if dropped from the final agenda, however, its inclusion in the May 7 draft made available to The AP is significant, reflecting the success of Islamic nations in giving concerns about Israel's unacknowledged nuclear arsenal increased prominence

The rest of the article is very interesting. It seems if Israel does get the heat on about this, it could spell testing times ahead for the U.S./Israel ties.

It's just the small matter of, "will the IAEA carry it through and bring this matterup?"

Maybe in time, but would it be a wise move to do it now, with all the hassle going on with Iran?

Imagine if Israel were forced to admit to having a huge Nuclear stockpile, Iran would be rubbing their hands together and would go full speed ahead in their own Nuclear Programme, not to mention North Korea. (and possibly others!)

I can see this turning into a big headache for the West, especially if the Arab countries keep the pressure on for Israel to tell all.

What do you all think ?

G.

Hi there Grantbeed .

I think Olmert let that cat out of the bag some time back ...(2006)

In an interview broadcast on Monday on the German private television network Sat.1,

Olmert was asked if Israel's alleged nuclear capability weakened its case against Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Olmert replied: "Iran openly, explicitly and publicly threatens to wipe Israel off the map.
Can you say that this is the same level, when they are aspiring to have nuclear weapons, as America, France, Israel, Russia?"

I just don`t envision Israel giving up its Nuclear capacity , and even if it did `officially ` decommission ..... some would be squirrelled away in the desert .

This is the begining of when Israel is hated and betrayed by ALL nations and America has been their alley for almost a generation, since President Nixon. Granted, Israel didn't need us in 1948 when they regained Israel, that was all Father's doing. America (the superpower then) aided Israel in gaining back Jerusalem in 1968, I believe that is the correct year. Both of these events were lead by Father and His angels bringing about prophecy.

It clearly states in prophecy that Israel will be surrounded by all nations, and this includes America. Obama is the president who will betray Israel, I feel it in my bones, but don't quote me on that, that is another topic.

Peace.

This CANNOT happen unless Israel wants it to happen.

The IAEA has NO jurisdiction with Israeli nuclear assets as Israel is not a signatory of any Nuclear disarmanent and/or non-profileration treaties that restrict it from researching, creating, testing and stockpiling nuclear weapons.

Same goes for India and Pakistan. The Indo-US Nuclear deal was subject to India allowing access and inspection of its civilian reactors to IAEA, in return for the US opening up the nuclear fuel market for Indian power requirements.
Pakistan has a similar deal in work with China.

North Korea and Iran are under scrutiny because the signed on to a bunch of treaties (NPT, CTBT etc. etc..) in order to reap all the $$$ benefits being offered to non-nuclear signatories, but now these countries are have a 'change of heart' with respect to the guidelines.

IAEA only has jurisdiction with countries who have opened up their stuff to 'IAEA safeguards' and this is done so by signing on to specific treaties.

Israel has not signed onto any such IAEA safeguard to the best of my knowledge, but may be indicating a willingness to do so if there is any chatter about IAEA and Israel. this maybe to achieve moral high ground w.r.t. Iran.

As UmbraSumus mentioned in his post Israel has never, ever said that she would wipe Iran off the face of the earth.

Lets remember people, that the only country ever to have used a weapon of mass destruction not once but twice, was the United States of America.

That they used the first atomic bomb was understandable. To use the second a few days later was, IMHO, unjustified and akin to mass murder which at Nuremberg, was classed as a war crime.

Having said that America and the Allies won the Second World War; the victor[s] always take the spoils and rewrites history to show it [them] in a favourable light.

Daedalus3 is sopt on when he says Israel has not signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty. She couldn't because she and her nuclear bomb did not exist.

Does this also mean that South Africa will come under close scrutiny?

I would also suggest that Israel's bomb is the real reason the Arab nations have never launched another all out attack on that tiny nation.
