Why are we allowing BP to run the show?

Okay, so by now, most have heard that the dome was a fail. But, a fail for who? The answer to the question is, It was a fail for me, that's right, me. Many of us questioned the monolithic waste of time, even tried to inject positive energy into it in the form of; okay, hydrates form into ice, causing blockages and buoyancy, right? So why not put a thermal/radiant jacket on the dome so that you can heat the gas to ambient surface temperatures, alleviating the blockage/buoyancy issue.
But no one listened. I failed.
So what do we do about it.
Do we go get our own crane and lift the thing back out of the water, build it like it should have been built?
These guys are crooks, and anyone who is allowing them to continue to run the show are crooks as well.
We still suffer from the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska, and clean up never finished, it barely even got started before it stopped. It destroyed entire fisheries, families, communities, marine and aquatic wildlife, and of course worked its way into the food chain so that I like everyone else can eat it.
What do we do, where are the Gulf of Mexico Keepers, where did you all go, and when did you become afraid of cleaning up, against orders?

And who would you have "run the show"?

I'm pretty sure BP, along with the hundreds of petroleum engineers, geologists,
well control specialists and others that actually have a great deal of knowledge and experience in oil/gas well drilling are quite qualified to "run the show".

Or maybe you think someone without a clue, like Obama, would be better at "running the show"?

No, I think the common people, who have a better understanding of just what the impact will be, are the ones who should be running the show. BP, just like Exxon are only interested in profits. Mark my words, people in Alaska still have active lawsuits against EXXON, and they are ignored. The same will happen with BP, they are only trying to cover up the growing evidence of their wrongdoing. We need a disinterested third party, in the form of a cohesive body,namely civilians commanding the response. They are who is ultimately affected by this.
