I've also been watching this series on the History Channel & enjoyed it. I'm facinated with the subject in general & enjoy reading book along those same lines. One theory mentioned in the series that I find interesting is the one about ancient civilizations having the technology to soften & shape stone and that's how many of the ancient walls of Machu Pichu & another site were built so precisely that the stones seem to fit together perfectly and need no mortar. Not to mention how some of the hardest stone on earth could be cut so precisely & lifted into place.

I've read some very interesting books regarding how humans developed early civilizations came into being.

One book doesn't dwell on the Sumerian beliefs in the Anunnaki much, but poses several very interesting questions for the reader to ponder & come to their own conclusions. It's called, The Genesis Race: Our Extraterrestrial DNA and the True Origins of the Species by Will Hart. In Mr. Hart's book he examines the flaws in Darwin’s theory of evolution, and how suddenly, around 3000 B.C.E., great civilizations sprang up around the globe. All the creation myths of these civilizations tell of gods who came down to Earth and fashioned man in their own image, teaching them the arts of agriculture and civilized life. In addition, the dominant architectural design in Egypt, Sumeria, Peru, Mexico, and China was the pyramid, though science has never been able to explain why or where these peoples obtained the advanced technological knowledge to construct such edifices. The abruptness and similarities of these evolutionary leaps calls into question the Darwinian theory of evolution, given that there are no traces of any intermediate evolutionary forms. He also examines things like metal working technology & the domestication of animals, which had no prior history or traditions.

Another interesting book is Humanity's Extraterrestrial Origins: Et Influences on Humankind's Biological and Cultural Evolution by Arthur David Horn. This book does spend a couple of chapters discussing ancient Sumerian civilization & writings as well as Darwin's theory of evolution. But overall is a very thought provoking read. This book made me take a second look at the Bible's story of creation and man's early interactions with God.

Lastly are two books by Sir Laurence Gardner entitled, 1) Genesis Of The Grail Kings and 2) Lost Secrets of the Sacred Ark. Mr. Gardner appears to have done considerable research into ancient technologies and discusses how the ancient Egyptians used alien technology to create a powder from Gold that rendered objects weightless. He also theorizes that the Ark of the Covenant was an energy generation device.

Again, these books pose some very interesting theories and are quite thought provoking if read with an open mind.

I'm new to ATS and look forward to reading more interesting threads.

Looks like the new Ancient Aliens Episode 4, Close Encounters is being grouped with discussions of the first 3 episodes. Personally I would like to see each episode with it's own thread, but I understand bunching them together, same topic.

you should have watched it patiently till the end, in this video they later explain why are the shafts built that way
