Anti-gay activist George Rekers outed after hiring male escort

An outwardly gay cross-dressing friend of mine I knew in West Virginia (of all places) during Highschool told me that:

"Those who shout the loudest usually *blank* the longest."

Tends to be the case too, it seems.
She was right on the money, I eventually found out.

Frankly, I think the whole 'religious' thing is a load of hogwash, but that's just me...IF we, as Humans, are ever to advance, we need to progress beyond such superstitions.

AND THIS INCLUDES the out-dated, and sometimes 'religiously-based' stupidity (and misunderstandings) of Human sexuality, and its many variations.

Thank you. I feel the same way about how religion can really skew people's ideas of reality. The religious man (or woman) who hates on another for their sexuality isn't making anyone else miserable but himself. I'm not surprised this gentleman was outed and I'm sad that he was part of an obvious effort to keep gays/lesbians from having equal rights. Some people, although gay, are homophobic themselves, having been exposed to years of religious fanaticism and heterosexism by the world at large.

It really is time for the world to stop allowing one book to interpret meaning in absolutely everything.

CNN 4 minute video interviewing "Lucien" and update to story

"Lucien" is talking and it looks like he didn't have sex with Rekers on the trip but gave him daily messages. I don't know how i feel about this now.

If Rekers went on the website rentboys.com he had to know it was a gay website and that is what he wanted, a gay boy. If he didn't and he did just interview people, i can buy that he didn't know anything about the guy.

But it is very strange to hire a guy to carry your bags and give you a message every day. BUT on the other hand if you are doing a lot of traveling and you are renting a car and need to unload / load them a lot and you are older i can see the need for someone like "Lucien".

I am leading towards Rekers gay and he's possibly paying off Lucien to say he didn't have sex with him.

What I find unforgivable about Mr. Rekers is his part in the founding of the Family Research Council in 1983, one of several conservative Christian organizations used by the Republican Party to help create a base.

Groups like this would issue voting records and "voter guides", getting pastors to distribute them at church. Voters were turned out for elections to vote on social wedge issues, like gays/gay marriage. Thus were elected many a Republican, who then went on to wield their power in ways often detrimental to the economic value of families, citizens, and the country.

I can forgive the voters who were duped by this charade, but the politicians who participated and those, like Mr. Rekers, who helped elect them but who were hypocritically self-righteous, are despicable.

The lies and cover ups to hide what lies beneath the covers puts this man in a sorry state. Either that or he is even more naive than Tobias on Arrested Development.

Wow.. that is pretty crazy. Makes you wonder about the church itself. It seems there a lot of gay in the church yet they preach to others not to be gay. Very strange behavior.
