Helpmekaar is in Jo-burg, but if i remember correctly, i read somewhere that Wayne is from Durban on the East Coast. i really dont know how they two might know each other.
I do agree with you on the Ground based radio telescopes ability to pick up Deep UV signals....not possible.
i did contact the SA Radio telescope in Hartebees to find out more on this. i know a guy there..maybe there is something to it, or we can laugh it off..

It does seem odd that the only school a "Dr." would list in her profile is her high school though.

Sigh....ok, if people like you still want to argue on the fact that the OP used the generic term of radio telescope as a smoking gun, i cannot stop you guys. BUT Deny ignorance is the motto here.

1. ) That smoking gun does not negate the fact that we DO have EARTH BASED ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM TELESCOPES, THAT COVERS THE UV RANGE AS WELL, and not as some here believe that ONLY BINO or limited wavelength radio telescopes exists.

2. ) That incident report happened recently, NOT 30 years ago. And we know full well our Earth's atmosphere had suffered GEOMAGNETIC activities in these recent times. UV spectrum, while TRUE that it would be absorbed by our atmosphere in good days, we know present times is NOT good days, so no one knows if it is true or not that UV signals had penetrated or NOT. In the absence of evidence, we CANNOT simply discount information released. DENY IGNORANCE

3. ) Attempts to prove Dr Judy as a fake is another ridiculous and rather silly way to SHUT SOMEONE UP. Do we evidences that she holds no doctorate? NO. Yet, skeptics are behaving like some conspiracy nut right now and throwing innuendoes all round instead of seeking for the truth. DENY IGNORANCE, and schoolyard antics of speculation please.

4. ) A report was filed in 2006 of her rejection from the criminal centre, rejecting her visa application. Could she had faked her work status to apply for a job in Germany??? Highly unlikely as even a kiss was traced by the meticulous agency.

Was this online article an unreliable source? Nope. They swear by the S. African press code. And it aint some liberal agency in S.Africa for sure.

ASTRONOMER Dr JUDY FAELTSKOG - MISSING?

If Judy is missing, then this story could be credible. I hope shes found soon and she is safe.

On another note butterflies can see in the ultraviolet spectrum and I have reason believe I have some ability in that region too, but I could be wrong.

Anyway am praying for Judy.
If the ETs picked this freq range to communicate and by now I'm sure all the telescopes with that capability either on earth or in space all looking for this signal and soon we may come to know the outcome. Fingers crossed.

I don't mean to judge a book by its cover, but she doesn't exactly have the appearance of an astrophysicist.

If I were to guess, I would say she's simply someone who is obsessed with UFO's who liked to play around with SETI @ Home. On top of this, she just happens to be friends with someone who is selling related material.

Ignorance is the state in which one lacks knowledge, is unaware of something or chooses to subjectively ignore information. This should not be confused with being unintelligent, as one's level of intelligence and level of education or general awareness are not the same

You cannot say deny ignorance as a means to keep people quiet to views that counter yours. To deny that they have not found proof of what she is a Dr. of, or to deny that there are serious errors with the account of what happened would in fact be the counter of denying ignorance.

They are trying to get to the bottom of it, while trying to fish out the truth from bull. There are clarifications that need to be made, and without it there is no truth.
That is how it works. Something is provided for the members of ATS. All sides beat it up until the creamy truth lays exposed for the world to see. If it can't stand up to scrutiny then it didn't have a leg to stand on in the first place

I'm sure the only place Judy is missing from is the internet. We have no evidence that Wayne Herschel knows anything about her apart from contact through facebook/ email etc.

I think she has 'gone missing' because she's realised she's pushed her story about being a NASA scientist just a little bit too far this time and she can't handle the resulting heat. Either that or she and Wayne Herschel concocted this whole thing to get him publicity. One of his books is about linking symbols to certain stars. He's either been taken in by the 'DR' or they concocted this stuff together.

It hasn't turned ugly, maybe sarcastic but not ugly. We were left in the dark with inconsistancies.

Trust me, if I could find her, and she needed help I would get 30 soldiers, throw on some civilian clothes so we don't end up on ATS as some FEMA camp operation, load up in privately owned vehicles and give her a security protection detail (no not the black helicopter type security detail). I would post her somewhere secluded and she could finish what she started.

got a email reply from Mike Gaylard at the Hartebees Observitory in South Africa..
He didnt answer my questions on whether they are tracking the "alleged" signal, but seems to be shrugging it off as faulse statements.
I did ask him to clarify his reply to me as a simple 'yes' or 'no'. But then again....maybe even if they did track this, he could deny it, so how will we know...

It would count IF she genuinely is on the team but how can that be verified ? I went on the official NASA AMES site last night and there were no results when I input her name. Maybe we can do a search on the other names in the list and see if google yields any results that suggest some of these people do have the affiliation they are listed as having....this might give her some credence-by-association given her name is on the list too ?

As much as i would love this too be true, its just too good to be true. We have seen this sort of thing time and time again, and time and time again, people fall for it. When it does not come true, then people move on to the next one
