Just an update:
The original resolution photos have been kindly sent to me by the owner.
I'll get them up as soon as I finish the email back to them, as I have some other questions to ask regarding the day the photo was taken by the original photographer.
I will include the answers unedited also (if they agree, and when they answer them).
Keep you posted.

Cheers
Smigs

Smiggle.....

That will be very interesting

You will need to keep the photos as "original" as possible, including EXIF data.

Kind regards

Thanks for the response mithrawept - thats 3 birds so far

OK - back to the photo video.
I asked the video poster some questions - he is not the photographer who took the photo, he is the person who noticed the object.
Here are the questions and replies:

Q: Where were you standing at the time the photo was taken – if you know the street name or a place name (even near the spot) that would help.
A: - street unknown- pic was taken from a parking lot by the ocean

Q: The exact date the photo was taken.
A: Thursday Feb 25 2010 3:40pm- the clock was set for Eastern standard time - not Australian time

Q: Was the object visible (did you see it) when you took the photo?
A: No, they didnt see it till i pointed it out

Q: Was the photo specifically taken to capture the unidentified object in the sky.
A: No

Q: Do you know what the object is?
A: No

Q: Did the picture prior to the one we are discussing or any following pictures contain this unidentified object?
A: No

Q: Would you say the lens was clean and uncorrupted at the time the photo was taken?
A: Yes

Q: Who first discovered the unidentified object in the photo?
A: I was the first to notice not the photographer.

Smiggle.....

The best way for you to handle the pic's is for you to post the pic's on "Yousendit" or "Rapdshare" or similar & then post a download link in the thread.

That will:

- Minimise image & EXIF data loss

- Allow other members to scrutinise the image

Kind regards

Mithrawept.....

On the one hand.....

I agree with your conclusions, as per my original post:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

On the other hand…..

I think it’s always interesting to work through the details so as to unequivocally identify the object & to instill good habits into our approach to these things.

Kind regards

The picture following:

The picture taken afte,r is of 2 poeple, and I dont have permission to put that photo up (I can ask them). It is a picture shown on the video of a woman and child - it is of the car park with the child playing - there is no visuals of the harbour, just the car park trees - I asked for the photo to check if the lense was clean and to get the camera data from the photo - (the lense was clean) this is taken 2 minutes after the photo with the object in it - (above)

I am curious about the before photo and the photo in question.
The timing between them is within the same time space - maybe 30 seconds apart.
The height of the prior photo seems to be taken from up high, and the photo in question taken down low.
Any thoughts?

Im off to google to just check where that lighthouse in the prior picture is.
Im not placing it in the area (by memory) of where the photo was taken from - just checking.

Cheers
