A good question, but ultimately Statlin killed 20 million, and I think it's good that the US recognized that as a bigger problem.

Shame Roosevelt didn't see it. He thought Stalin was a great guy to be trusted and that Churchill was an evil empire builder. History overestimates Roosevelt.

Churchill, while not necessarily evil, WAS an empire builder. Stalin definitely was the evil one, though.
