New Hampshire: All Courts Closed Today As Money Saver

"All 78 courts in 40 locations statewide will be closed in response to a request by Gov. John Lynch to cut judicial expenditures by $3.1 million during 2010 and 2011, according to the Associated Press."

It gets pretty expensive to prosecute people for silly crap, now doesn't it?

I say everyone, charged with anything, plead not guilty.

All New Hampshire courts will be closed today on a scheduled furlough as a money-saving measure.

All 78 courts in 40 locations statewide will be closed in response to a request by Gov. John Lynch to cut judicial expenditures by $3.1 million during 2010 and 2011, according to the Associated Press.

Court justices have designated additional dates on which courts could be shut down to achieve more savings, including May 28, Aug. 6 and Sept. 3.

Fearing $4 million more in cuts, members of the union representing most state workers who work in the court system will be at Manchester District Court today protesting.

"When the courts are closed and justice is not being served, every single person in every community across the state suffers the consequences," said union steward Melissa Laferriere in a press release. "Our mission is simple; to show that we stand together supporting each other and to educate the community as to what is going on."

He doesn't seem very adept... I've watched part of the video posted on his site.

In one video on YouTube from 2008 the judge is downright pissed; they cuff Ian (the accused) and march him into another courtroom with a live video feed to the original courtroom where his buddy is filming.

It's clear that the judge is highly agitated (OMG what is this sovereign going to say/do) while Ian is visibly very nervous too.

Just goes to show that when the PTB get agitated about their standing AGAINST a Person, ie when that Person doesn't just lay down and take a beating, they become the 'accused' and question their own authority (and are uneasy with it!)
