We need as many government jobs as we can get.

We need as many government jobs as we can think of. Just think of the advantages.

1. Government jobs pay 20% more on average.
2. Government jobs have killer health insurance.
3. Government jobs have killer retirement benefits.

Really if we wanted to get paid better, we would beg the government to take over the companies we work for.

Yeah...like Greece... and when the government is bankrupt, they cannot pay or fire anyone because of the unions and you're at risk of civil war.

Great plan!

How are we going to go bankrupt if the government gets ALL the profits from all the businesses. If we were all working for the government then they would own all the companies and thus get all the profit. Sounds win-win to me.

Yeah that works great...that's called a totalitarian regime. Not even China is that bad.

Only North Korea and Stalin's Soviet Union were like that.... worked great right?

Either you're joking or you need to read a few books...starting with high school books...

But our government is nice.
Look how good they pay.
Look at the great benefits.
They love their workers.

I think you are wrong. We need to eliminate all government regulations on workforce pay and conditions, because the 'free-market' just needs time to lay it's golden eggs.

I mean really, foxes are such beautiful, smart animals, surely they just need more time to learn how to guard the henhouses that hold the geese laying the golden eggs. It's all those barn-doors and farmer w/ guns that are preventing the foxes from becoming the natural poultry raisers they could become w/o all of the damn interference from the big intrusive farmers.

Best,
SN

P.S. Do you really think your sense of sarcasm is so awesome that it just demands you to continue making the same thread over and over again? I mean, thank you SO much for all you contribute

Well dont you think a fox raised in a proper environment, being around chickens since birth, would learn to protect them as family? Its not the foxes fault. The fox is a victim of his environment. A properly fed, properly guided fox would be loving and protective to the chickens.

If things proceed the way they have been going, the U.S. government will be owning everything.

Though the intentions were initially well meant, who could have conceived "The New Colossus" was meant to beckon future slaves unto yet another domineering, totalitarian regime?

Well, if you ever become a farmer you can test out your theory. If you raise free-range your chickens, I'll gladly pay a premium for some eggs and meat.

As it relates to economic policy, Iceland adopted policies closest to pure unregulated free-market principles. China is closer to your sarcastic call for ACTUAL socialistic control of the market. The real-world shows that a compromise between the two extremes is best for balancing individual liberty, stability, growth, etc., etc.

Extremes are bad. It is easily demonstrable using sarcasm to make any extreme (free-market or otherwise) look absurd.

Best,
SN

Government jobs as they are now are all well and good, as long as they are adding just as much as they get paid into the GDP.

The government is, or should I say should be us, so it only makes sense that we should all work for it - but everyones been brainwashed into to thinking unregulated-free market-capitalism = FREEDOM, which is totally bogus.

Instead what we have is corporate entities being a basic extension of government - which is scary as.

As scary as fascism, as it is the definition. Yet, somehow, people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off yelling about socialism.

Well, when people like Fox News can convince a large portion of America that Obama is a communist, you know you're in trouble. The so called "left" in America would pass for Center-Right in just about every other developed country on the planet. The sheer amount of propganda you guys were bombarded with during the "red-scare" has left you (generally speaking) ignorant of reality outside your borders.

ATS members excluded... Most of them anyway.

I know something.

I think housing should be a right.

Everyone should get a free mansion. The government can pay for it. They can just print up what we need.

I think everyone should work for government, you have a good idea.

BUT, why work, I mean they can just print up the money because money grows on trees in DC, does it not.?

We could be all professional couch potatoes!

I mean really, it is working in Greece is it not? Everyone not actually producing anything except red tape works, does it not?

OP, you devil!
