Tim Kaine: Democrats are the 'results party' in 2010 election

www.csmonitor.com

Battling a tough political climate, party chairman Tim Kaine said that Democrats will frame themselves as the “results party” in the 2010 election and the the Democratic National Committee would spend “north of” $50 million to turn out voters – especially new voters – seeking to maintain the Democrats' majority status in Congress.
“This election is going to be about a choice,” Mr. Kaine told a Monitor-sponsored lunch for reporters. "One party put the economy into a ditch, stood by and watched it

The "results party"? To quote long-time Democrat and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, "Are you serious?"

The results of this party has been that has been a party. A party for the bankers, corporatists, and junk bonds investors that are directly responsible for causing the recession. A party for Military Industrial Complex that feed on wars to survive. A party for the Insurance companies that have been given another 30-40 million customers under the compulsion of law to purchase their products with no guidelines nor restrictions of pricing.

The major accomplishment of the "results party" has been to pass a piece of legislation, of highly questionable constitutionality, that took a year in and half to connivence the Congressional super majority to vote for it. Even then it took more back-room deals and bribes to gain those votes than what it would to change the national anthem to Seals and Croft's Summer Breeze.

I think it is safe to say that only real "result" this party has had is that:

Nearly 6 in 10 registered voters said they will look for someone new in the fall elections, rather than voting for an incumbent.

And that may be the best result that anyone can hope for to start working on solutions.

The Results party? How stupid. I mean don't these fools have better things to do then worry about rebranding their party? My god...........American politics is such a joke. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of all of them. I 'm sick and tired of the republicans, democrats, liberals, conservatives and all the other career kleptocrats!!!! I say kick em all out. In my opinion there are only two things the US Federal Government needs to worry about......printing and coining money and providing for a strong national defense. Otherwise there should be much stronger state and local governments. The damn federal government needs to shrink by 2/3. All they do is suck off the citizens. And for what? A worldwide empire in which we can send our future children off to fight for and protect? A $600 billion dollar defense budget?

And we wonder why Scandinavian countries and other foreign nations have such high standard of living. THeir government actually cares about their people, their culture, and their livelihood/prosperity, and their way of life. Our bureaucrats are a bunch of phonies who only care about lining their pockets at all costs. After all when the US becomes a third world country they have their villas and vacation homes, million dollar yachts, and gated communities to retreat to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, that is like giving Bin Laden a demolotion company, because he gets results, or selling gas to Hitler because he gets results, or giving fertilizer and desil fuel to Timothy McVeigh because he gets results, or giving Charlie Manson some low self esteem teenagers and a bucket of drugs becuase he gets results, or handing Columbia over to Chavez because he gets results, or giving Mao or Stalin more torture weapons because they get results.. you get the picture.

I am supporting the Democrats this november. Like it or not but we have two parties and they aren't going anywhere, they will just shift forms(change philosophy a bit). I will only support the pro-union democrats like Byron Dorgon and Sherrod Brown, both great! I would definitly love for them to pass a wall street reform bill that mirrors Glass-Steagall(I doubt it will happen though).

Either way I am supporting the Dems and opposing the Repubs.

So what you are saying is that you are voting to insure that their won't be one manuacturing job left in America? Well I guess on the bright side, it will be good for our environment and the rats love living in those big empty factories and warehouses.

I vote for pro-union democrats to bring manufacturing jobs back. If you cared about workers, jobs and our country you would vote pro-union too. The fat cat corporations have convinced retarded Americans that they are the force behind the economy and we should do everything to support their huge multi million dollar salaries. God forbid we help workers and bring back jobs!

Well I am glad you are supporting War, Patriot Act, unConstitutional legislation, Tax increases on everyone, Corporatist whores, Outright liars (Dodd! just to name one-oh by the way, have the whores stopped any outrageous bonuses yet to companies that got bailouts?) Bailout creators, Tarp creators, Stimulus creators, etc etc etc.

Now, before ANYONE tries to obfuscate and LIE on this here thread. Tell me, who had the legislative branch since 06? Hmmmmm.

Oh and by the way there Misoir, you can support them, but you personally cannot vote for them.

Einstein stated the insanity line and everyone knows it so.

Third party, third party, third party, except for Ron Paul.

Those unions worked out real well for GM and Chrysler didn't they? Those unions are working out real well for fed, state, and local governments arent they? Really, I was just thinking the other day on the way to work that my city could hire at least 3 more guys to stand around and BS while they watch the one guy dig a hole.

Instead of making people pay union dues, why don't we just make minimun wage like $50/hr and make some laws that when you get too fat from eating at all you can eat buffet everyday that you get mandatory disability pay for life, because your too fat too work.

Sounds like a recipe for success to me. Just ask Greece, it is like Heaven on Earth there right now and it is getting better every day.

I figured I would get flamed for that.

Flame me all you want, but you know we only have two choices: Dumb and dumber! I will take my chances with the dems, I would prefer not to have obnoxious, racist, old white southern guys running the country.

Or we could go with your ideas and let corporations and the rich use slave labor to create even larger profit for themselves. I have always dreamed of an America where we could choose who we want to work for without some pesky union getting involved ya know.

I have always dreamed of $2 per hour pay, 70 hour work weeks, sweatshops, and pure torture in the workplace. Sounds lovely doesn't it? Right to work = Right to get f*cked! OR...

I could make $10 per hours, 40 hour work weeks and humane working conditions at the expense of massive profiteering and opressing. I wonder which I would choose?

Welll what you don't get is that we live in a global economy. You cannot compete in a global economy if your competition (aka Chinese workers) makes a fraction of what you make.

You cannot possibly compete in a global economy when your country imposes high taxes and over regulates. You also cannot compete when a union won't let a company fire an employee who has come to work piss drunk for the last two years and has the production level of a handicapped monkey.
