What was Albert Einstein thinking on the day he died? These newly released pictures of his desk may provide a clue. LIFE Magazine has held onto them for years, along with a picture of the doctor who removed Einstein's brain.

Paints the scene a litter better of Einstein for me.

litter better, lol.

Looking at that first picture, is it a safe bet he was left handed?

Also, for anyone who might know, is that larger jar by the pipe a tobacco jar?

That last picture just looks odd and out of place. I don't know why. The doctor looks familiar for some reason. Bizarre.

Threads on ATS don't usually give me the creeps and this picture just hit me in an odd way.

It makes me wonder what would he have accomplished if he had a computer? Would he have been more productive or would he still have preferred to do things the way he was doing them.

Its funny you should highlight that , because i had a particularity similar feeling of familiarity with the man in the photo.
Though , i was not creeped out by it - i just felt the photo has a certain `recent` feel about it.

Maybe its his nonchalant demeanour thats unsettling - there he is , cutting up Einsteins brain- unfazed ..... its as though the Time magazine photographer caught him preparing his breakfast .

I actually find this to be what I would have expected from a genius. Messy desk-messy mind.

Yeah, I would have to think he was left handed, not by the direction of his written work on the desk, but by the fact that he obviously was unique, outside the box, and had a serious capacity for abstract thought!

I don't know if this is true or not but I was watching a documentary on marijuana legalazation and they began listing off famous people throughout history who smoked the good stuff and apparently Albert Einstein was one of them.

Soooo maybe it's not tobacco in that jar

Then i could rule the world.

I cleaned my desk yesterday. My employees were asking me why, since it happens so infrequently.

I found 22 dollars while doing it.

He probably would have surfed the porn sites and accomplished nothing. Well, maybe not, but look at the SEC.

Most of the advances of the human race predated the computer. The computer has made many things possible, but look at what was done without them.

What strikes me as odd are the top three empty shelves in the bookcase. Seems to me that a cluttery person would fill up all available space, so want to bet some stuff was removed right after he died?

I'd love to know what it was.

I wanna watch that video but if they keep showing it, the brain and slicing it in the video, I am going to
. I guess this is the reason I just never could do the medical field like my mother wanted. This kind of stuff makes me gag literally. I can watch all the gorey gorey horror films, but the real life grossness just makes me
.

ETA:I always heard he was an Aquarius but it said he was born March 14 that would make him a Pisces. So now I feel good about being a pisces.
